Cindy filed for divorce?
« on: April 15, 2013, 10:34:09 AM »
It is unconfirmed, but I was told that Cindy Schaap has filed for divorce from Jack. I am not intending to take pleasure in the dissolution of a marriage or add to the level of suffering but, if this is true, I wonder about the reasoning behind the accolades of of the wonderful marriage proclaimed by Cindy in two separate support letters prior to sentencing. I have more thoughts on the whole subject for later posts.

I realize that shock has become part of our recent thought patters when it pertains to FBCH.  This would be another shock to me.  I'm not trying to bury my head in the sand, but at this time I don't believe it to be true.

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa.

I don't mean to discredit you or your unpublished source.  But, I have see allot of guessing, supposition and hear-it-through-the-grapevine dogma on the old forum and even this one that is just flat wrong.  This does not coincide with all of the other reports I have heard about how the family is trying to deal with the horrific situation they are all in.
Not that I'm saying, but I'm just saying that that's what they say.

That's why I qualified my statement. The source seemed to accept it as fact and told me the origin of the information. It may be poppycock but if I really thought the source wasn't credible, I would not have posted it.

Is it really shocking? It's actually the logical thing to do.

I guess it depends on the depth of love and commitment.

Yes, I heard it from a friend of hers.  She also "donated" everything he owned.  Sold his motorcycle and all his jewelry.  Very sad.  She is also selling the house and moving somewhere, no one knows.  Not this area.  Apparently wants no contact with him.

She has every Scriptural right to divorce him.  Staying would require immeasurable grace, which God does provide, but may be more than her human emotion can bear right now.  Plus, she may realize that he has not yet come to a place of real repentance and therefore could not even receiver her grace if she offered it.  Understandable, yet shocking based on the stories of commitment I had heard.

Cindy has every right to do whatever she wants...............Good for her.......it's nice to see women with brains and a backbone!!

This is just my guess but she would then be able to rebuild credit, monies without his name attached

Beareth all things...

It makes me sad for her, make no mistake.

I did hear that at the sentencing hearing she chose on purpose to sit where he could not see her...

There was some speculation that there may be a liability component. The victim's family is allegedly filing a civil suit and the thinking is the divorce would insulate Cindy from financial responsibility for the potential settlement. I have no idea legally if that would actually work or if it is even a part of her motivation - presuming the divorce filing information is legit.
