I remember Ralph well.

"Burn 'em"

The phrase that HACkers shout, any time that C.E. starts off with the words "You guys that...."

Haaaaaymen

What do you do when you combine a Haaaaamen with the mezzerack? Well, I was sitting next to Bill Connor one day (you know, A-C). He was famous for jumping up and waving an enormous Bible over his head and shouting 'Well, Glory!' (Completely sincerely, by the way. I loved that guy and always tried to sit with him on miserablenine Sundays.) Well, anyway, at one point on a Sunday night Bro. Hyles kicked over a few microphone stands. Bill Connor, who had apparently forgotten where he was at, attempted to stand up and wave that gigantic KJV. His 'Well, Glory!' turned into a rather inglorious 'oooomph' as his shiny head promptly collided with the drop ceiling above him. He was a bit more tame for the rest of the service...

Word of the day - March 27, 2014

Burn 'em

A phrase (not a word, duh) used to direct a portion of the message to the appropriate targets you think need it. As in, the preacher is railing against those who fail to make their beds in the morning, and since you happen to be sitting by your room mate you yell, 'Burn 'em!' while slapping him on the thigh with your Bible for emphasis, and to make sure the point is appropriately driven home by the Holy Spirit...

Burn 'em

Words originating in the chapel of HAC.  These words are somewhat synonymous with "Amen" but carry a deeper meaning.  When a preacher is preaching hard against any sin which you are not committing, you yell, "Burn 'em!!".  You are wanting the preacher to hit their sin even harder.  To the average preacher these words are like throwing fuel on a fire.  Those that are experts can actually cause a preacher to name names.  An optional move is to elbow the person next to you as you yell.

See, it wasn't lost on our later generation either. =)

RALPH!!!!!!!!

Originally used to call attention to a student named Ralph in the early to mid 80's.
It gradually became used as a non sensical word whne AAAAAYMEN and BURN EM wasn't appropriate.

BCH, you have turned into a stinkin' (I love that word) rebel!  Read the OP.  Your word of the day is uninspired.

Deadbeat

Not sure of the origination of this word.  It was a favorite of Jim Vineyard.  It refers to any person doing anything less than you in any area of life.  At HAC it was commonly used on anyone in a different ministry than you, or anyone who came back from bus calling earlier than you.
