There is a pastor in Iowa who raped his oldest daughter for 4 years. The mom doesn't want her daughter to testify because they have 8 kids to take care of. Now the man is looking for a new church to take him on. He should be in prison, right??

He should be in prison, right??

Sure, if:

  • he actually exists (He does, right? He's not just some fiction you made up?

as well as:

  • he is investigated by law enforcement with the proper jurisdiction
  • he is charged
  • he is tried
  • he is convicted and sentenced

And then he should be in prison.

Where in Iowa? He HAD a church? So was this reported? Of course he belongs in prison. Here goes the same old same old behavior. Cover up. If this is true why the heck has it not been reported...assuming it hasn't since I've searched and searched to find nothing.

Yes, he should be in prison...with the lifers. They will welcome him with open arms.

Is it odd that most of the people responding on this thread just joined and their only posts are in this thread?

Check again. You’re wrong. AND if it is true...so? What’s that mean? Someone needs to know how to deal with such an insane situation?

I'm more concerned about the "so?" if it's not true.

In which case the OP is either telling tall tales, or trying to destroy someone's reputation.

The reply was to your statement that the new posters ONLY commented on this one issue. You are wrong. Point being SO what if this was the only thread that they posted on. Is there some unspoken requirement that you MUST post on more than one of the topics.

As far as being so concerned the story is not true and someone may be wanting to taint someone's reputation...don't you think specifics would have been given instead of just Iowa? This nonsense on the trivial that a new poster posted on ONLY this thread has NOT A SINGLE thing to do with the issue. Focus.

Ransom is right to be suspicious of believing a post from a new poster, especially on such a subject. And why weren't specifics given?

I've asked for a link to the story and received zilch.

No one here is interested in false allegations or hearsay.

We're not being nasty, but just being prudent.

I understand people being prudent. My point is there have been no names given or any other specifics aside from Iowa. So jumping to the point of being suspicious...suspicious of what? There are pastors in Iowa raping their daughters? That's pretty vague.

What Ransom said.

If you have information and are really concerned, go to the police - not a semi-anonymous forum.

If only the OP poster would be involved, then we might be concerned about your "point".

One, it wasn't my comment.

Two, at the time you posted this, half the people who were on this thread registered either yesterday or the day before--you included. Of those, two of them (though not you) had only posted, one single time, to this thread, including the person who started it.

So voicecrying's observation, if not strictly accurate, was basically true.

Point being SO what if this was the only thread that they posted on. Is there some unspoken requirement that you MUST post on more than one of the topics.

No, but a sudden influx of newbies posting on a single topic does look like a pile-on. Especially when the OP is about fighting sex abuse and comes from a new poster named "fightingsexabuse." Do you think it's plausible that there might be an agenda here? Or is that merely coincidence?

And still no one has documented the claim made in the OP.

And speaking of the OP, despite quite reasonable requests, there has not yet been any documentation of the accusations made.

So unless "fightingsexabuse" can back up the claim made, that an Iowa pastor has been raping his daughter for 4 years, with credible evidence (e.g. a legal document or news story from a legitimate media outlet), I will lock this thread in approximately 24 hours--3pm EST, give or take.
