I said covenant because that is what it is. Early English translations of the Scriptures should have never used the word Testament in reference to the Old Covenant. Never. It sets the "stage" for a misunderstanding of the Scriptures.

God's actions in humanity is the ONLY thing that makes the difference.

I've listened to Dispensationalists all my life claim that..... IF they had NOT been "born again".... they still would be on the road to hell and would have NEVER done anything for God in their life. They often quote verses such as

Zec 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

However, these same people will tell you that Abraham became the father of faith WITHOUT being born of the Spirit.

Just one question for you. If YOU... couldn't have done anything for God without being BORN AGAIN...... Then how in the world can YOU believe ANYONE can?

The reason those faithful in the Old Covenant were successful was because of the Spirit of God birthing them into the family of God and empowering them to serve Him.

God's Spirit has always been the only "THING"... making the difference.

True.

There are plenty of people that have never even considered anything beyond what their Scofleid Bible says.
