I'd much prefer to hear truth with strong language than polite lies; especially if it's spoken by someone with present or future power.

Hezbollah is smart. Israel did let the ball down.

No matter what Trump says, it's going to be distorted by someone. I learned that, listening to him in 2016 as he spoke about Mexicans: what he really said about them as opposed to what the press said he said. Also, I heard him with my own ears as he spoke on May 6 and what he said as opposed to what the press said he said.

I didn't hear the speech referenced and I'm sure he did use some spicy language but I'm almost sure he told the truth no matter how tactless it may have been.
.
well said..... and it;s true israel did drop the ball in the intelligence field... and
should have listened to warnings that a surprise attack might happen .. whether
or not any foreign country like egypt actually told israel of an impending attack
is still being questioned... but people within israel itself - including members of

israels own news media - were talking about how the surprise attack that started
the yom kippur war of 1973 could happen again on it;s anniversay... .. and were
wondering if israel was ready for it......

this news show was on israeli television the day before the attack last saturday

began.. very chilling to watch knowing now what was going to happen less
than 24 hours later

Very true. Also true, we got some good action going on the Fundamental Forums today. 😉

fair enough ...and duly noted..... ..video post has been edited to give viewers warning.... my apologies for the previous oversight...
What a shame that such warnings would ever need to be posted before watching a U.S. president speak—in front of thousands and on TV, no less!

well.... i disagree.... but don;t wish to be offensive even by accident..... .... different people get offended by different things... . i personally find repulsive imagery and certain kinds of jokes to be offensive... . especially what the forum brushes off as "toilet" humor or "potty" humor.. .. i just ignore it most of the time but there was an era not long ago when i would have never had to worry about it.... . .. ...as a matter of fact - even up into the early 1970s such things were never allowed on television... they could not even show the image of a toilet.. depictions or descriptions of certain bodily functions... pictures of animals defecating... or even the inside of a bathroom or certain bedroom arrangements on television.... ...but while todays fundamentalists seem determined to remain in the culture of the 1950s in some regards - they completely abandon that principle in all others... ...what can we say?....
Probably all presidents have used such language, some (in)famously more than others (Lyndon Johnson comes to mind). The difference is that, up until recently, those colorful comments were usually caught by a “hot mic” or when a president was caught off guard in some manner. I just happen to think it’s shameful that we now have US presidents ripping out curse words like they’re talking about the weather. I guess some people find that acceptable and normal, but I was always taught if it can’t be said in front of the preacher, it probably shouldn’t be said. To each their own. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Everyone has their pet sins... Stuff they'll get upset over and stuff they'll look the other way on. I find a person's political position has a lot to do with which sins fall into which category.

and on that i agree with you.... i just find it tedious to have to walk a tightrope in one regard while the rest of the populace .. and these days even the preacher...goes sloppy over the falls in everything else..... .why walk the tightrope at all?.... ....i can live with things i find offensive and even tolerate them when i must... ....but having to tip toe around the pet peaves of others while they stumble and flop around all over things the rest of us might find offensive just gets old after a while... ..and makes it hard to keep respect for those people after a while....

I’m curious about this statement, namely because I’ve never heard this said (or read, in this case). Can you give an example or two?

I too am sorry about the demise of our culture in so many ways. I remember those days when we were "protected" and could be assured that vulgar language and other things would not be used. And while I wish that Trump and others used polite and gentlemanly language, have you ever clicked on the "reels" on Facebook or Instagram?

The things that one sees on there makes makes Trump's use of spicy language seem like Sunday school talk. We have no decorum anymore in this country, it seems.

i started to ask about that too.... but i had already made the post long enough as it was.... personally i think it;s more due to culture than politics...

My friend, I got off social media many years ago because it just made me want to gag. Between the garbage people posted and the new moms posting hourly updates about what their kid was eating for breakfast, I just couldn’t deal with it.

I guess I’m old enough to remember when the term “presidential” referred to “acting with a level of dignity and decorum.”

Many Republicans/conservatives go into meltdown mode when the name Jimmy Carter is mentioned, but I respect the man for how he led his life. One wife. No running around with porn stars. No filthy mouth in front of cameras. No kids doing cocaine and getting naked on camera. Etc.

I honestly believe that today’s Republican is about what a Democrat was just a couple decades ago.

i knew it wouldn;t be long before someone gave an example of the very thing i was talking about...... i have great respect for you and i know you don;t mean offense... ... but do you have any idea the kind of imagery that puts into a females head?.... ..i don;t expect you or anyone else to refrain from saying things like that... and i know men love to say those things - but if i posted a picture of what it actually looks like everybody on this forum would bristle with indignation....

as matter of fact.... i got a major argument started on the fff once before for simply telling about what i usually wear to the archery range during the hottest time of year.... (btu shorts and a tank top).... . and it was nothing different than the same kind of thing every female who grew up in hawaii wears in the worst part of the summer... ..... most people brushed it off or weren;t bothered by it... but a few others went ape - calling that style of attire immodest... ..and that;s only one example... . you should have heard the ruckus that went on years before that when the discussion of beach and swim wear came up... ..people acted offended just by the very mention that women in hawaii don;t swim in pants or surf in cullottes.... ..it got really ridiculous.... but not from their point of view.. in their mind they were fighting a holy war...

it;s always somebody else who is the snowflake isn;t it?..... .never mind the long list of things each and every one of us finds offensive... .. but the ability or inability to weather those things is the real question.... . everybody seems to want their own bad breath tolerated while never failing to point it out when they detect it on others.... . human nature right?... ...except some can;t seem to admit that they are human too... just like the rest of us..... ....

It's a personal observation.

Two examples:

Bill Clinton was a womanizer. The details of his trysts are public knowledge. Yet, no one of his political ilk were bothered by any of that: according to them, he was still qualified to be president. However, everyone's moral compasses reversed directions when Brett Kavanaugh was accused of inappropriate behavior towards women.

Ted Nugent is a champion of the 2nd Amendment. His activism is praised by conservatives even in churches, a fact I can personally attest to. Something else I can attest to is his foul mouth while on stage. He proudly spews out vile and sophomoric dribble that makes conversation in a middle school locker room seem tame. Yet, in all of this he gets a moral pass even from members of my own church.

i;m not really a ted nugent fan... but i do like his stand on the bill of rights..... yet i still don;t understand the people who speak or perform in public and can;t control their language... especially when they know they are doing something for prime time that families with kids are going to see..... ..... but i get even more irritated when something is replayed and they edit out the words with beeps and sometimes constant high pitched tones when they let out a string of profanity......sometimes there are more beeps and tones than words in a production...... i would just as soon hear the cuss words than have to endure the constant censors.... ... ...it not only tells me what they really said but it tells me who they really are.... ....and the words in the trump video would not even be considered for beeps in the videos and recordings i;m talking about....

I think the much of the media has protected Clinton over the years, but in more recent history, many on the left were not so. In fact, during the Me Too movement, Clinton was essentially moved to the back of the bus and was largely absent from his wife’s presidential campaign—a move that many pundits thought probably was a bad move by Hillary. Obviously, the media has long been an arm of the Democratic Party and so yes, there’s a double standard and guys like Kavanaugh are testament to that.

have you heard or read about amy carter?.... jimmy carters daughter?.... or his brother billy carter and the infamous "billy beer" fiasco?.
I’m not an expert about Amy Carter, but from what little I know about her, she’s Mother Teresa compared to Hunter Biden. Regarding Billy Carter, he seems to have just been a “good ol’ boy” who lived off his brother’s coattails. Honestly, I can’t imagine having a sibling who is a governor and then president, and never being able to hold a candle to his accomplishments.

.
Oops!!
This might give away my age but I remember when President Carter was in office and how Billy was made fun of by the press as being the "bad " brother (sort of) and I also remember the reverence his mother Lillian was given - and his preacher-sister, Ruth that the press couldn't get enough of.
But somehow, I must have been out of the loop in recent years because I don't have the faintest idea what y'all of talking about concerning Amy. I think of her as a little girl (which she was when he was in office).
Anyway about President Carter - did y'all realize he just celebrated his 99th birthday!! My saint of a grandfather thought much of President Carter so, I do too.

I’ve had the opportunity to meet President Carter twice, although both times my conversations were very limited. I was just a baby when Carter was president, so I can’t say much regarding “living then.” But yes, I was aware he made it to 99. I have some Carter posts on here. I’ll try linking a story later.

Getting back to the OP...

For the anti-Trumpers who won't allow facts to influence their thinking, this fiasco will be good ammo.
