It was 65 today and I sat in Exegesis class for 4 hours with John Piper explaining 2 Corinthians in Greek.

What degree are you earning? For some reason I thought you already had a M.Div or something similar.

Interesting. So I’d assume that the meaning of “Christian hedonism” and traditional hedonism is completely unrelated. First time I’ve heard the two words mixed together.

Related insofar as both refer to the pursuit of pleasure. "Christian hedonism" is a coinage of John Piper's for his book Desiring God. It means that a central goal in the Christian life is to pursue joy and pleasure as found in God rather than worldly things. His catchphrase is, "God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him."
It's actually a fairly Augustinian concept, though not in so many words.

Psalm 16:11 In your presence is fullness of joy, at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. " He's a Calvinist who believes that you must not only believe in Christ but love him to be saved.

Time Flies when you are having fun. Been almost a whole week since someone wasted moments of their life posting in this thread.
On this past Sunday, my youngest, Junior Junior Starlifter, graduated from high school.
We had a nice party for him at the church and I preached his commencement service at his church/school on Sunday night.
All this past week I have been almost on the DL b/c of some unknown virus that even the VA couldn't figure out.
They couldn't diagnose my ailment despite the fact that I feel lower than a snakes belly in a wagon rut.
For 4 days I couldn't taste anything or smell much.
Thought I had COVID, but they tested me for that and I wasn't positive.
Anyway, I hope I'm on the mend but I'm still coughing, fatigued and blowing out and coughing up interesting colored mucous & phlegm!
