Baths!? Did he have a box of Mr. Bubble too?I once had a roommate at BC who loved HOT SCALDING baths. He would come out of the bathroom RED.
That's a memory. Not sure that it applies to anything else discussed.

Please tell me you mean “shower” when you say “bath.”I once had a roommate at BC who loved HOT SCALDING baths. He would come out of the bathroom RED.

No. It was a bath. At Baptist City there were regular tubs with showers. Please tell me you mean “shower” when you say “bath.”

He was a help in several critical matters I faced.I truly hate to hear that, I loved him.
This could be done for hours and you'll always land on an illustration.I recently picked up one of the Hammond Pulpit sermon books. Of the ever how many hundreds of pages I randomly opened to four pages and pointed. My finger each time landed on an illustration / real life story being given by Hyles........ about himself.
DH came back to Hammond in the very early 90's. He was successfully growning a business with A.L. Williams. He was earning the respect of FBC members again, but on a business level rather than a spiritual level. Why do you believe that?
I mean DH had been gone from the church more than a half dozen years.
I believe this my husband if he were alive could tell stories. I bet Clyde Wolfe could alsoDH came back to Hammond in the very early 90's. He was successfully growning a business with A.L. Williams. After he met with the married HBJHS secretary on a Schererville road one night, a meeting was held with the Pastor, the three HB principals and I believe, Eddie Lapina to decide if the secretary should keep her position on staff. A police report was made about their meeting. She kept her job; parents reacted as their children would've been expelled from HB had a student been caught in the car. Their meeting was pre-arranged as the secretary had her boys spending the night with a HB teacher that night and her husband worked 3rd shift.
In 1989, the church members sided with JH over Nishchick....this was the 100% loyal period.
In 1991, the mass exodus began after deacons brought the DH/secretary meeting up in a deacon's meeting. JH shot it down, even
after many, many deacons had already received a copy of the police report in the mail. JH had told the principals there was no police report while deciding if she should stay employed at HBJHS. JH was caught in a blatant lie, siding with his son and the school secretary, but the deacons had already been provided with hard evidence that the two had met on that Schererville road. JH & FBC lost many deacons, SS teachers, bus workers, soulwinners, choir members and dedicated Christians in the coming days and weeks.
Start a thread and one learns yet more that he hasn't known all these years. I knew DH came back for a while.DH came back to Hammond in the very early 90's. I agree that I have heard bits and pieces of what TT wrote about with regard to DH coming back to the Hammond area for awhile. I hope his facts are good. I wasn't there and like BCH, I did not know that DH had played a role in the stuff that went on in 1990.Start a thread and one learns yet more that he hasn't known all these years. I knew there was the '91 Exodus, but I thought it was all rolled into the Nischick, Godfrey, Sumner episode.
