Domelle the Dimbulb

So THAT'S what the Old Paths are all about - total control of the laity by the clergy. Now we know.

Allen Domelle is the pastor of Maranatha Baptist Church in Bethany, Oklahoma. He is a vocal advocate of cover-ups of IFB clergy misconduct, even of a sexual nature (such as that of Cameron Giovanelli), even if the information is true. As Domelle sees it, the ability of sinning clergy to be a witness for Christ is weakened not so much by their own sin, but by those who expose that sin. Check this out from one of his recent articles:

"There are two ways Satan accuses the brethren. First, he accuses the brethren from without. Satan takes people who have an agenda against others and uses true or false information to accuse them so that it will hamper their ability to spread the Gospel. I would hate to be the tool Satan uses to accuse the brethren and weaken their ability to be a witness for Christ. The false narrative that people use to accuse brethren so that they can stop a cover-up is nothing more than a facade to hurt someone they don’t like. Sadly, Satan has used believers as his tool to accuse God’s people." - Allen Domelle, April 12, 2021

The doctrine that we are to cover up sin has a corollary: We are to slander people who object to sin.

FBCH and HAC followed this, slandering people who objected to Dave Hyles' and Jim Vineyard's sins.

And the second doctrine has a corollary: We are to reject Romans 12:19--"Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written: “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY,” says the Lord." The steady, continuous destruction of the reputations of Jack Hyles and FBCH are a testimony to the truthfulness of this verse.

Since he is a pastor, he needs no advice from anyone. His decisions are Ex Cathedra.
I always wondered who the new Baptist Pope was. I thought it was Smellin'.

Paul points out that we are to embrace “the doctrine which accords with godliness” (6:3). Paul echoes this thought in Tit 1:1, saying his faith is based on “the acknowledgement of the truth which accords with godliness”.
The doctrines that we are to cover up sin and slander those who don't does not agree with Paul's teachings.

As part of that kind of stuff for many years, I'm saddened that he hasn't grown to see that comments like he posted are cult-like and not Scriptural.
Yes, the Scriptures tell us to make use of wise / spiritual counsel, BUT... if the pastor of your church is the ONLY spiritual person in the church then, he is failing to do his job as pastor and should be voted out... (of course, if the church is brand new, and they are ALL babes in Christ, that's a different situation).

Which explains Bob Gray's support of David Hyles' sham of a "restoration ministry".
