Ok... User name origins got me thinking... What are the origins of your current and or past avatars?

Current avatar... Is Mrs abcaines and myself at the Christian Motorcyclist Association national rally in Arkansas in June of 2024. The theme was hillbilly dress up. We kinda did the redneck approach.

Past avatar was me in my riding duds from 2022.

I guess mine is pretty self explanatory, but I do need to update it since the golf tournament ended. Before that I was using a Tampa Bay Rays duck. I grew up an Atlanta Braves fan but I adopted the Rays when I moved to Florida around 25 years ago.

The insignia for the 32nd infantry division that fought with distinction during both World War I and World War Two. Comprised of national guard units from Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin which were federalized during those conflicts. This unit is known as the Red Arrow Division.

Why my avatar? My high school adopted the moniker the Red Arrows in honor of the 32 infantry.

BTW the name is still active and a good friend retired from the 126 (Red Arrow) with 29 years of combined Navy and National Guard service.

It's Superman. I like Superman.

There's another avatar I tend to use pretty much everywhere else. It's just a geometric, Art Deco-inspired styling of my initials.

But Clark Kent's been my avatar on the FFF pretty much since the beginning, so I've stuck with it.

Some years back on a thread I think the subject was something like, 100% Hyles or something. So I’m 100% FFF.

My present one is self-explanatory. The glad tidings of great joy were to "all people." The Christian Zionists (an oxymoron) have been in need of reminding lately.

The last one is from a 100-year-old photo of Michelangelo's 'Moses' used on the cover of Gleason Archer's Old Testament Introduction text.

I've used that for over 20 years on the Baptist Board. Yes, Moses has horns.

My first avatar was taken from Caravaggio's 'St. John the Baptist'

I think it has the proper expression for a tract ministry in Israel™. (I didn't choose it for that. It just worked out that way.)

Mine is a photo I took at the Godward life Conference standing next to John Piper in Oct 2024.

i;ve used many different avatars over the years... .. but my current avatar
is a logo from an old surfboard company that also made skateboards... and
went out of business in the mid 1990s.. .. i never owned one of their boards
but a 16 inch sticker with this same logo was on the underside of one of my
first boards to cover a repaired gash in it....
