what are your plans for the day?.......... ...

this is where we will be from 7 am today until noon.... .... the punchbowl military cemetery of the pacific....but it won;t look like this... it will be full of people there for the services to observe memorial day and pay tribute to all those who died in service to our country..... .this is something we have done every year since i became part of this family.. if you ever saw the old hawaii 5-0 tv show with jack lord - you might remember seeing this place in the opening credits.....


... later this evening we will be at the lantern floating ceremony at ala moana beach park... .. a ceremony to remember all loved ones who are no longer with us.... . it will be a busy day to say the least.... ..

It was a wonderful ride; the weather was perfect. Mrs. abcaines and I just got home. (add to the 84 miles 35 miles for the ride back home from Moscow.)
 
Went to the local parade and service at the cemetery.

here;s a few pictures of the events on memorial day may 25th 2026..... at the punchbowl u.s. veterans cemetary of the pacific ..... the pictures are from todays honolulu star advertiser report....

it was not as big a gathering as previous years... but just as special... .....boy scouts and other volunteers placed the flags and flower leis at each grave marker the night before.... .... they did not bring in the big guns this year.... instead - marines delivered a 21 gun salute from the steps of the memorial... . at the end F 22 raptors performed the missing man flyover tribute... ...
