It should be noted that there is a left ear and a right ear. Both are prone to insisting that they be scratched.

never scratch itching ears..... .. that only leads to infection which in turn can spread infection to others ... .... ears that are itching are ears that are telling you something unhealthy got into them that should not be there..... scratching only embeds whatever it was into your ears and gives it blood to feed on..... .

so.... rather than scratching itching ears - wash them out with a mild antibacterial solution of equal parts of white vinegar and rubbing alcohol..... (the same stuff we use after being in the ocean to prevent swimmers ear).... .

mix up the solution at home and put a generous amount of it in each ear... .. then hold a wash cloth to each ear while the excess solution drains out ..... leave the rest of it in there... ...don;t try to dry it out... this solution will dry on it;s own as it kills bacteria... and also help dry out any water or other undesirable moisture that might be in an ear.....

:)

this has been a public service message from the forums surfer and reef diver..... worded to address a physical dilema but when the same principle is applied to the spiritual equivalent - can also address the problem of itching ears of a biblical nature as described in 2nd timothy 4.... wash out whatever unhealthy elements get into your ears... and if possible protect them from further abuse....

It should be noted that having such ears on the forum will not result in their being scratched.

Just got back from tropical Florida and had to apply this very good advice for the ears. As for the spiritual application I have heard sermons where the preacher could have benefited from your homiletical savvy.😁

i rmember learning about it right after joining my new fmaily here in hawaii... .. the first time we went into the ocean together.... .. been doing it ever since... we keep a large squeeze bottle filled with the mixture in the jeep to wash ears out after exiting the water... .. i can;t remember when i first wrote about it on the forum - but i have made posts about it a few times here and there... ..i;m very glad to know people found it useful.........

on a related note we also keep a gallon size glass jar of white vinegar in the back of the jeep when at the beach or in the ocean - and leave it in full sun so it stays nice and hot.. .. (not scalding hot though- just super warm).... . that is to pour directly on jelly fish stings.. ..

the protiens in marine toxins are invigorated by cold temperatures... heat slows down their action... ....and the acidic nature of the vinegar neutralizes the alkaline properties of the jellyfish toxins as well........ beyond that it;s just a matter of scraping off any unfired stinger vessicles attached to skin without rupturing them and making it worse.... . .. i know that has zero relation to the OP.... it;s just another public service message for anyone interested... and also free of charge.. ..;)
