    WTC7 hypothesis

That's the second time you've caught me in an inadvertent Monty Python allusion. (I was actually very loosely paraphrasing the kind of circular reasoning you find in Kafka's The Trial [which I have yet to read], where everything is proof of the protagonist's guilt.)

Things once considered Sin and may still be.

Heck with all the young dudes. When I was a teenager. my hair was so fine, if I didn't give it a spritz of hairspray just to hold it out of my eyes, I'd look like a Beatle.

That law was written to a culture where both men and women wore robes. So whatever it refers to, it's not "men wear pants, women wear dresses."

Absolutely. Only incriminating documents would deny their own existence.

The heck was wrong with Crash Bandicoot? Was it because he was wearing pants or something?

9/11 was an inside job intended to cover up evidence that 9/11 was an inside job. 🤪

    Tucker Carlson Detained by Israel

Great story, bro. Maybe airport security should have asked Carlson a couple more questions. You'd have penned the Great American Novel by now. Remember Tarnak Farm!

    Happy Lent, everybody!

The Archdiocese of New Orleans would like to reassure you that during Lent, alligators count as fish and can be eaten. For the record, this also means that in California, faithful Catholics may eat bees, and we cordially invite Nancy Pelosi to do so.

As with many Fundmantalist giants, the "Dr" in Dr Pepper is purely symbolic. (Though its creator, Charles Alderton, at least studied medicine.)

Jack Hyles died 25 years ago, today.

Kilts offered more mobility than trousers and dried faster after a rainstorm. The "great kilt" wasn't just a skirt: it was up to 10 yards of wool fabric wrapped around the waist and over the shoulder, and could be used as a cloak or a blanket. The kilt was officially banned as a combat uniform...

Things once considered Sin and may still be.

Reminds me somewhat of an anecdote a Christian professor told me when I was in school, about the elders of a traditional Dutch Reformed church that were scandalized because their young women were starting to wear short shorts in the summer months. They were so upset by this that their tears...

Kilts weren't "exempt." They were, and are, traditional Scottish men's clothing, albeit more formal wear today than everyday. It's a rather provincial idea that men's clothing has to have two leg holes and women's clothing has one.

What do we think about Tim Keller?

Baptism is the rite of initiation into the Christian community. So this makes consistent sense. Although my own church is effectively Baptist, my denomination is historically an alliance of independent churches that were not all credobaptists from the beginning, so that while the denomination is...
