Somebody tell me, how does this happen??

That is a distinct possibility! Which raises a question of whether that school has ever disassociated itself from anyone that it conferred a past academic (or honorary) award? I can think of some candidates!

Somebody tell me, how does this happen??

I reckon. But after subsequent moves, it's still rather remarkable to me.

Somebody tell me, how does this happen??

Maybe it's like someone being a fan of a certain sports team, in which they never played for, never had a relative play for, never earned a dollar from, and yet, they wear the team's clothes and put their logos on all sorts of personal items for the rest of their lives. Maybe it's sad that...

Somebody tell me, how does this happen??

Dude, I graduated from HAC in 1981. I've been accused of a lot since then and some of it was even true. But I haven't been accused of being youthful in a very long time!!

Somebody tell me, how does this happen??

On Saturday I checked my mailbox and found the attached promotional flyer. According to Google, my mailbox is situated 640 miles from Hyles Anderson College, where I graduated in 1981. I have only visited the campus one time since then, 25 years ago. I have had no communication with anyone from...

    Mrs. Hyles and the kids

Terry Smith is dead. The only reason I know this is that his younger brother, Tim, who was married to the oldest Hyles child (Becky) died a couple of weeks ago. I read it in the obituary. https://www.wattsfuneralhome.com/obituaries/timothy-smith

    Deaths Of HAC Students

I've never heard of Jim Ross, but I do recall Bob Ross from early HAC years. Are they related?

    Things Change

I remember my first day as a Hyles Anderson College student. I drove myself from Alabama to enroll on the Tuesday after Labor Day in 1976. I was excited. It was my first foray into a world that would not include my parents and the home in which I had been raised. I would never return to that...

    A Serious Question...

I believe this pic to be true and accurate and yes, it appears that the rule allows for something like pants, spanx, tights, etc., to be worn, so long as that skirt is on top of it. It looks awkward to me, but whatever gets them through the day...

    Deaths Of HAC Students

Joe Franklin “Frank” Carter Jr., 67, of Kennewick, Washington, died Jan. 1 in Richland. He was born in Van Buren, Mo., and lived in the Tri-Cities for 43 years. He was the pastor of Clearwater Baptist Church. I remember him from the late seventies at HAC. He worked with McSpadden and Scott in...

    Deaths Of HAC Students

Since the person died, can we know her/his name?

    A Serious Question...

There are 19 other pics on their FB page that were taken yesterday. None of them lead me to believe that "the rule" has been changed.

    A Serious Question...

That’s what I said. The school wasn’t started as KJV only. That came later.

    A Serious Question...

HAC released a promotional video yesterday. In the (almost) six minute video I see no females in pants. There is nothing in that video that leads me to believe that the rule has been relaxed. Unrelated, the video is pretty well produced. I only take issue with one statement, that the college...

    A Serious Question...

Some in the pic wearing pants appear to me to be "riders" rather than students. Those females who appear to me to (more likely) be students have a skirt of some sort on. I don't think female bus riders were ever expected to have on skirts.

    A Serious Question...

Sherry did you wear pants when you went home?? ;) I grew up in a place in the south that was VERY conservative, but all the women wore pants. I thought it was a bit strange to preach against it. However, my pastor was vehement that pants weren't to be worn at church. He didn't care if a woman...
