Why did you pick that one thing out among all those questions? Usually someone who is called to, or has the gift to teach. See, you find any reason to justify your contempt. In this case, there wouldn’t be any children in proximity to the person, but you find some rationale to exclude them.

For whatever it’s worth, speaking anecdotally, both my wife and mother have vestiges of expectations that they ought to wear a dress to church. Neither grew up IFB, nor gleaned it from their time in an IFB church. It’s related to cultural norms of that era more than any explicit doctrinal teaching.

I think the nature of the doctrine of church discipline, among other things, is the strongest argument against the interpretation that the parable is about the church.
