Between then and when he got to California, he spent some time in Samoa. I first met him in 1983 when I got to NAS North Island. He was running the military ministry back then. He eventually started a Bible Institute at the Lighthouse and I was in the first graduating class of 1989 before my...

I remember brother Fisher talking of his salvation experience that people came knocking at his door and he wasn't too kind towards them. He spoke a good deal of his experience with the church in which he was saved and the short time he had in the corps. My understanding is that he was a graduate...

Wow, what a small world! You played a part in his conversion? Everything you are saying about that church is pretty much every objection my Roman Catholic parents have had towards Independent Baptist Churches! As far as they were concerned, I may as well have joined the Nazis or KKK! I enjoyed...

Everyone has their own particular teaching and preaching style. Trying to mimmick another preacher is nonsensical (looking at all you HAC grads here). I often think of Doug Fisher (my old pastor - Lighthouse Baptist, San Diego) and his method of delivery. What strikes me is the uniqueness of...

It has digressed to little more than juvenile squalling and assorted silliness nd nonsense. I often come on, look at the "What's New" tab, shake my head, and then hit "Mark all forums read. Perhaps the FFF has jumped the shark?

So....this is like Jussie Smollett but on a much larger, more sinister scale?

I have heard him give differing versions of this story or perhaps it was two different occasions on which he was being a jerk to the Hotel staff? At least he admitted to being wrong so we have that.

Once upon a time, this was the STAAAAAAANDEEEEEEEEEERD everywhere you went! At the public High School I went to, I was told that "Back in the day" (50s-60s) the dress and grooming standards were much more strict than in the late 70s/early 80s when I was there. The boys had to wear slacks (not...

Jack Hyles certainly "Preferred" the King James back in the early 80s (1983-1984) when I first heard him but did not go off the deep-end towards the "Ruckmanite" level of KJVO nuttiness until around 1989 when the Sumner articles came out. Of course I myself was hard-core KJVO and shouting...

Perhaps the old "Space 1999" series was overly optimistic by about a hundred years? They should do a reboot of the series and call it "Space 2099!" You can do a Google search in order to understand what I am speaking of.

The Anti-Christ will be universally loved by all and regarded as the "Savior of the world." The only ones resisting his rise to power will be Bible-believing Christians.

YEp, I'm fixin' ta!

My current one is a diagram illustrating the attributes of God.

About ten years ago, we were visiting friends in San Diego and I decided to take my wife along and visit the IFB Church I had attended while I was in the Navy in the 1980s. She hadn't packed a dress and I didn't want her feeling uncomfortable so we stopped off at a Ross and got her something...

Baptist Renegade = rabble rouser, going against the grain, challenging the status quo, tipping IFB Sacred Cows (My Pickle U Doctoral Dissertation). I'm not sure if my name fits these days. I am very much a mainstream and theologically conservative Baptist. Perhaps I should change my moniker to...

Obama was the most divisive president in the history of our country. He literally set back race relations at least 50 years with all of the "black lives matter" and "critical theory" nonsense! It waned considerably and then came back with a vengeance with COVID and O'Biden only added fuel to the...

You had conservatives and liberals (and Rush Limbaugh) back in the Clinton era but not nearly as divided as they are now! What happened during the Biden administration was flat out scary and I shudder to think of what might have been if Kamala Harris was elected! I believe what has been going on...

And if they do, we are done.

The biggest hope for Iran being victorious would be if the Democrats regain control of congress in November.
