    WHBC Remembered

Normally, I don't feed the trolls but I'll make an exception here. The shots are not so cheap since most of the subject matter has come at the expense of the hurt souls of men and women.

    WHBC Remembered

Yep, that absolutely doesn't pass the smell test. His chronological chain of events never match real history. I recently came across a Newspaper site that has an article from The Daily News (Huntingdon, Pennsylvania) dated November 4, 1972 that features Jim Vineyard because he was leading a bus...

    WHBC Remembered

As they used to say on Laugh-In...."Verrrrrry Interesting". While that information supports my suspicion, it should really be confirmed officially before we can declare JAV yet another impostor. That being said, I'll take the liberty of saying that JAV now has the burden placed on him to prove...

    WHBC Remembered

Sorry, friend. I have to pay more attention when I'm reading nested quotes!

    WHBC Remembered

^^^^^^Truth Yeah, I joined in 1982 and was one of only three guys in my A-Team that did not have a CIB earned in 'Nam. The only talking they did about it was when they were showing us newbies how not to be killed.

That is what I conjecture. The question is, do you know something we don't about JAV's service or are you making a point with sarcasm?

Hey Just Me, where did you get the info that he was a mail clerk? That's one I haven't heard. PM me if it is to personal to share here.

We have a tropical storm off the coast

Stay safe. I'm on the "better" side of Florida and we have burning blue skies, crystal clear waters and soft white sand. You enjoy the Atlantic....I'll enjoy the Gulf and have a happy 4th as well.  :)

    WHBC Remembered

That's one of my points, friend, I don't think he was "one of ours". No SF guy I know would be caught dead out of uniform like that much less disgrace it in public for personal gain. During Vietnam you could move up the NCO food chain pretty fast if you had the right MOS. Post Vietnam (when I...

    The Wilds

Well said, Anchor and may I add my voice to yours by saying "Amen". The Wilds is indeed an exemplary camp. I have sent many teenagers to it over the years, including my own sons, and have received nothing but excellent reports about it. And to give some context for my conclusion, I have been to...

Could be but who really wants to know what is on his mind?  ;) And, yes, he is confused.

    The Wilds

Yeah, I understand and was just joking. It was far better to remove the whole thing for the reasons .tim stated. But, if this forum were a Republic, I would cast my vote that Biker be banned.  :)

    The Wilds

Thanks Admin, that was wise. However, I took me a long time to type that response to Biker and now it is gone. That bums me out!  ;)

    WHBC Remembered

The vast majority of men his age served in military. I think he served so that is why I asked for him to sign a Standard Form 180 that would release his service record to the public. It would show where and when he served. His stories are not just "over the top" they are anachronistic and...

    WHBC Remembered

JLC63, your posts bring back some memories. Your observations about the post-Vietnam Marine Corps personnel reflect my experience as well. I only attended WHBC once and only heard JAV a couple of times before I decided I couldn't take anymore. His "Vietnam, Green Beret, war stories" seemed too...

    Billy Makes His Case

Good thoughts but I would add that we need to engage the culture (like Paul and the 1st century brethren) without becoming the culture. What that looks like is the debate. Yeah, it can be surreal out of first person context. In some areas, it seems like one of the old science fiction story...

    Wicked "Christian" Catalogs

Biblebeliever, I've debated about chiming in on this thread and finally decided to do it. I don't know how well you will receive my input, but here goes. I attended PBI in 1979 for a short time and got to see up close and personal everything Peter Ruckman. Even though I decided to go to...

Why do Christians have to get creepy?!

Your methods sound a great deal like Tim Lee's (I fondly remember a post of his on the old FFF about this topic that involved camouflage, hiding in the bushes and a Ka-bar) . I think I would be the same way if not more so. Perhaps that is why the Lord gave us three sons and no daughters.
