    A question on grace

When I say I am a Calvinist, and you say "That explains a lot," it tends to indicate that me being a calvinist puts me in a box that is called Calvinist, and once I am in that box, you can determine how I would answer or explain any question. You've boxed me in, you've figured me out.

Coolest Jet story I have ever heard SR-71 BLACKBIRD PILOT TELLS THE STORY BEHIND HIS FAMED GROUND SPEED CHECK Throughout its nearly 24-year career, the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird Mach 3-strategic reconnaissance aircraft remained the world’s fastest and highest-flying operational aircraft. From...

Best part of the article, in my opinion. A Christian is guaranteed glorification. “Those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified” (Romans 8:30). According to Romans 5:1, justification is ours at the moment of faith. According to...

    A question on grace

Yes, I am one of the known Calvinists. I believe that God regenerates us then calls us efficaciously, then we believe. I am only so frank abut it because so many of us here have discussed this for years and we respect that others might believe that faith comes before regeneration.

Maybe a topic that's not been discussed here EVER before......maybe, pastoral candidate assessment.

Preaching, I want to hear if he preaches Expository messages. Can he handle the Bible. Does he only preach easy messages, or hard passages. Does he give extraneous application that is not related to the passage? For example, some preachers will say read your bible, pray and witness as...

    A question on grace

Grace is the overflow of God's self-sufficiency (Piper), although many define it as unmerited kindness or favor, both true. Grace does not actually save us. But God saves us by grace. He saves us when we do not deserve it. He elects us in eternity past Ephesians 1:4 (even as he chose us in him...

Maybe a topic that's not been discussed here EVER before......maybe, pastoral candidate assessment.

I'd like to hear him 3-4 times. But I want to know his character. 1. Is he a man who loves the word of God. Is he a spiritual man. Does he have a real, intimate personal devotional life (I don't like that word devotional, but it's a good summary). In other words, does he spend time reading...

Are those who oppose gay marriage but accept divorce simply hypocrites?

The Bible does not say whether the gift of faith is only given to some. That is something we conclude by saying that we know some will not believe. I do not think that we can say, unti the day that you die whether you are one of the elect. The example is the thief on the cross. He was...

Saving Faith: Does it come from God or yourself?

I believe that faith is a gift from God. Philippians 1:29 "granted" is the word grace or graced, given as a gift of grace. Believing is a gift of grace. It is given, not inherent in one's heart when unsaved. For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but...

    N2 to Death

Well then. I care for my pet (I actually don't have one), but I do not care for a criminal who deserves the death penalty. I am not talking about a parking ticket, but a murderer. Why should I care about their suffering? They did not care about the person they murdered.
