Part of her problem was she kept trying to convince people she's no longer part of the loony left from California, then she paid a bunch of loony leftists from California to campaign for her. In case that wasn't enough she paraded the endorsements of one of the least popular vice presidents and...
It seems unlikely that anyone very high up would say this, at least out loud. Seems more likely it was a a FEMA reservist. They would have less to lose than the regular govt employees.
It's difficult to say Libertarians are "essentially" anything. It's more of a coalition of groups that believe that the current direction the nation is taking in regards to personal liberties and size of government is completely wrong and believe we should be going in the opposite direction...
Certainly agree that Libertarians are weird coalition of rightists and leftists mixed in with some anarchists and a spattering of people who just want drugs legalized. I like the idea of using govt to maintain the moral good as long as we are talking about my definition of the moral good...

At the time I was in Colorado...
If they were at a FEMA site like a disaster recovery site they should have been happy they were only asked to put their weapons in their vehicle. Once those sites are rented by FEMA they are federal property. The legal ability to concealed/open carry does not extend to federal property.
