    Fundamental Baptist and John MacArthur.

I'm not, tbh. Pastor Chappell has quite a few John MacArthur books and commentaries in his office. He doesn't agree with everything that MacArthur believes; but he does respect him. Pastor Chappell is not narrow-minded in his vision. If I had to describe him, I would say he looks at things...

New Podcast / Upcoming Documentary Exposing Abuse in IFB churches.

I'm not sure how aware he was that some staff leaders said comments like that every now and then. It wasn't like they taught whole class lectures on how to please your pastor or anything like that. Just every now and then you would hear one of those comments and be like, hmmm. I don't...

New Podcast / Upcoming Documentary Exposing Abuse in IFB churches.

I know that WCBC grad. We were both on tour groups there. Some of the stuff he said was true and some was subjective based on personal feelings/experiences. The emphasis on treating the pastor almost like a king and being ultra loyal was taught by some professors, but not all. Some were more...

Falling Out between Chappell and Sword of the Lord

I don't know all of the implications. But I did go to church/college there.  I'm pretty sure from what I had heard was that there may have been some tension because of the popularity of the leadership conference they host and how well-attended it was and how the Sword conference crowd seemed to...

    SB 1146

Agree with Twisted.  If you don't attack it now (even though it may not affect you), you can be sure it will be harder to deal with in the future once it has a foothold.

College student.  I did join the church and worked for the college, but not in any notable positions.

    Lancaster Baptist Church - Largest?

Haha, no I am not related to John the Baptist.  If you count every ministry they had (nursing homes, satellite churches, bus ministry, parks, etc.) then it would probably be around 5,000 - 6,000 on an average Sunday.  If they are averaging around 8,000 now, I wouldn't be surprised.  It wasn't...

    Lancaster Baptist Church - Largest?

When I was last there back in 2009, they were averaging around 2500 or so in the main auditorium on a Sunday morning (two services).  Throw in the other ministries (children, Spanish, etc.) and they probably had a total of 3500 - 4000 on Sunday mornings.  Possibly more if you add in college kids...
