I like to study characters/people in the scriptures. So I was at the goodwill store a couple of weeks ago and I found a book on Abraham, a little under 600 pages. Then I saw two more , still in the shrink wrap that they were shipped in on Joseph & Elijah. Then a day later I found one Jacob. But...

For a not so smart dude like me.............Which one should I get.............or which one more needful? I would think the handbook one would be sufficent...

Raymond Brown wrote three commentaries in the "Bible Speaks Today" series: The Message of Hebrews, The message of Numbers and Deuteronomy. BTW, they are most excellent. He was a former principal at Spurgeon's college and a baptist preacher. There is also a Raymond E. Brown who wrote many books...

I need more books like I need another hole in my head........BUT.............. their commentaries were 90% off. I tried, I really did. But alas I couldn't help it. I took the BAGS thru the basement door so my wife wouldn't see them. :o

V.3--"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine" I'm doing a personal Study in Ch. 4 of II Tim. What is your {anybody here} opinion on who the "they" are in V.3? I sorta lean to what MacArther & Hiebert say to name a few. But could true believers be included in their number?
