Is this migrant caravan a threat to our security and our national sovereignty or just an opportunity for our country to demonstrate Christian charity. Should they be treated as an invading force or as fellow brothers in need.

If we let them in, when does it stop, how many is too many.

What are your thoughts.
What are some of your concern and some of the disadvantages of unchecked immigration.

Here are some of the bible verses I have seen used on facebook to defend the idea of letting the migrant caravan in to our country and to defend an open borders policy.

Exodus 23:9
9 Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Leviticus 19:34
34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

Deuteronomy 15:11
11 For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.

Matt 25:40-45
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

I see a real difference between "loving thy neighbor" and "open borders."

Anyone who is in this Country should be loved and aided by the People of God.  Legal and illegal.  We should not check citizenship status (or criminal record) to determine if we will act Christlike to others.

However, Civil Governments must enforce laws.  We can't apply "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" to our criminal justice system.  Christians don't seek revenge and we must forgive those who hurt us.  Municipalities must have laws and those laws must be enforced through a system of punishments.  Actions must have consequences for a society to function.

My opinion.....vote for lawmakers that represent your best ideals for how a government should function.  After that, love everyone as God loves them.  I want the caravan stopped because they would be breaking our laws.  If they are allowed to enter the United States, then I should receive them like a "brother" until the "State" takes action.

You know, it just hit me...
Out of that migrant caravan Moses led out of Egypt, only Joshua, Caleb, and those under 20 were allowed into Canaan.
