To those of you who have already raised kids, be thankful. It’s not easy in today’s society to keep a kid balanced but also protected from the junk. I can’t even imagine the issues my kid will deal with when raising children.

I used to hear liberals/people say “I fear bringing a child into this world” and I almost always instantly scoffed at comments like that. I still think that is a wrongheaded worldview, but I do struggle with how ALAYBOY will stand against the surging tide of chaos and confusion.

I spend good money and send my kid to a private CHRISTIAN school and this nonsense is still happening even there. There were just a couple girls who got in trouble for “dating.” There was another girl who was telling everyone she’s transgender. Etc. Etc. And for the record, this is a CONSERVATIVE Christian school, not a liberal one.

The way things are going these days, I may have to just run around barefoot!

Or just adopt the position that all athletic footwear is of the DEVIL!

My wife teaches 5th grade public school, it’s there, and ALAYBOY has similar stories. I was golfing with a local school board president a couple weeks ago and he told me of some shes that claimed to be hes who demanded to use the men’s bathroom. It had several of the maintenance men torn up, but the school board president regretfully said “we would just spend a lot of money in court and lose, only to end up in CNN”. Sad

Isn’t capitulation the real issue with why Republicans and conservatives find themselves in the situation in which they do? DeSantis certainly hasn’t taken that attitude in Florida. Republicans have a history of having weak spines. Liberals, on the other hand, go for the jugular.

Certainly a lot of truth in that, but unless the local school board has deep pockets and unwavering support I think pragmatically speaking he’s very possibly right in the given cultural context.

Yes, the school board plays a major role, but it’d be nice to see some people willing to take a stand like Daniel in the Bible—consequences be darned!

at the moment there is still saucony... ... they make running shoes plus shoes for all kinds of sports... so far they haven;t gone woke yet.... but who knows what they will do in the future.... ..i have 3 pair of them in different styles....

i don;t know anyone who is happy about what is happening with the men transing to fake women and taking over... but i know plenty who are afraid to say anything about it.... they are even afraid to ask questions..... not only does the left eat their own but they will butcher them, and stake them out like scarecrows as a warning to anyone else who has questions.... and even if you are conservative christian the left makes the assumption they already own you if you are a female involved in sports, or any other endeavor they claim to have had a voice in....

so far they have stayed away from hunting and shooting sports.. nobody is saying you have to be woke or take a trans-warden-representative with you to go bowhunting..... but it could be coming.....

I really do try my best to funnel my money to the least liberal companies. I will have to look into your shoes. I don’t know much about them other than it’s affiliated with marathon runners. I’ve been partial to Under Armour since I ditched NIKE years ago. Back in the day, I was such a huge Nike fan that I almost got a Nike swoosh logo tattoo on my leg. I’ve made a number of mistakes in my lifetime, but I’m happy to say that wasn’t one of them!

Meanwhile, in the automotive industry...

This isn't "redefining tough" (which still means the same thing when pertaining to a truck: the opposite of brittle, able to resist damage when driven roughly). It's putting glittery paint on a product to pander to a tiny percentage of the population, of whom an even tinier percentage would actually buy such a tacky vehicle.

Look, I think we get that gay people like beer, sports, and trucks too. If Ford or Adidas puts out an ad targeting gays, I might not like it, but I won't care much either. What annoys me about this kind of advertising is that it's not directed at their target public, the LGB*.* who buy beer, suimsuits, and cars. Rather, it's sanctimonious scolding addressed to me and lecturing me over my wrongthink.

i;m definitely not a runner... but i do have one pair of saucony shoes specifically made for runners called endorphins... that i use for our long range bicycle rides... i learned about them from my triathlete friends..... .. then 2 of the saucony styles i have are the trail style... actually made for hiking and trail running... . one low top pair and one high top pair.... rugged soles that grip like hiking shoes... . but i have worn them both doing all kinds of things and even walking around on sidewalks in waikiki and downtown... super comfortable and very light... i can walk all day in them....plus i use the high tops on shorter off road bike rides... . ..i never wear any of them on the beach though.... and i never wore the pair i had previously on the boat either.... they are really durable and tough but i didn;t want to take a chance on ruining them.....

when it comes to shoes i am well stocked.... all kinds... and sometimes different colors of the same kind.... ...but i don;t hoard them like i;ve seen some do.. .. (not emelda marcus yet).... ... and i give them away or donate them when i have worn them long enough.... then toss them if they are completely worn out.....

but i have never worn nike shoes.... or anything with a nike emblem........ only had one pair of adidas before which didn;t last long..... (i did wear those on the beach a few times)...... ...by far the most comfortable sports'/sneaker shoe i ever had on my feet was british knights back when they made them small sized but in wide widths.... nowdays british knights are all medium width and not made as well anymore.....

but here;s a link to the saucony shoe website..... :)

.
just kidding...;)... this yo yo has been around for a long time.... long before the trans-genders thing.... it;s named like this coz it has ball bearings in the axle and can do extra tricks....... but i;m surprised the lgbtq and trans-crowd hasn;t discovered it yet...... .they didn;t sell very well back in the day and can be picked up pretty cheap online.... but that ford commercial makes me glad we own jeeps and chevys...

I will look into them. I’ve actually been thinking over the past couple months that it’s about time to get a new pair of shoes. Once I do, I always retire my old shoes and make them my new yard work shoes.

For everyone who can’t understand why these companies are behaving this way, it’s due to their ESG scores. I won’t link Glenn Beck videos because I know there are a few Beck haters on here, but he’s been preaching about this nonsense for years.

my dad always did that with his work shoes.... he kept 5 on hand at all times and rotated them down... . he bought a new pair of them about twice a year... black catapillar alaska style with steel toes.... .. he kept the best pair polished and oiled for ems and fire department work... the second pair also polished but as a back up pair for the same work.... then when that second pair started looking raggedy he put them to use as rigging work shoes for climbing the ships rigging and working aloft.. coz by that time they were worn just enough to be flexible but still tough enough to protect his feet.....

then after that he used them for on deck and below deck working shoes only.. ..... and finally the most worn out pair he wore into the water with hard hat dive gear and surface supplied air lines on harbor mooring repair jobs... and other under water rigging jobs where he wasn;t required to swim and could just stay on the bottom in the silt layer until the job was done... ...that pair usually didn;t last more than 2 jobs and then had to be tossed....

but then when he retired from diving and working the rigging he started just donating his old ems shoes to goodwill.... and more than once we saw homeless guys wearing an old pair of his shoes... but i often wondered if those guys would have still wanted to wear them if they knew the history of what happens to shoes in the course of ems and fire rescue work.... i wouldn;t have...

My daughter is in her mid 20s, single and no desire to be married or have kids. In this day and age, I do not blame her!

Under Armour as well. Filipinos love this brand for some reason and we always have several pairs in our balikbayan boxes for friends who request them. Perhaps I should make them my shoe of choice?

Very bad move on Ford's part! I became a "Ford Man" back in 2009 when they didn't require government bailout money like "Government Motors" and "Mo-Poor!" The transmission fiasco in my Focus turned me into a "Toyota Man" now which is also the Filipino car brand of Choice! Its what my wife and all my kids drive. I drive a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder that is PAID FOR and is proving to be absolutely bullet proof (as was my old Nissan Hardbody truck)! Hopefully I'll be able to drive it until I am too old and senile and they have to take the keys away from me for my own good!
