My daughter went to ONE youth outreach and came back saying, "In order to please God, I need to wear dresses."  I never sent her again. If a church wants to prepare kids for the ministry or teach them to live a Christian life, that is fine. But telling them how they dress is what, ultimately, sets them apart as a Christian is not not okay with me. It undermines all that I have taught her about salvation, fruits of the spirit, and holiness.

Some youth conferences have multiple colleges represented.

Some have no college present and no marketing material at all.

Conferences sponsored by the local christian college are very likely to be used as a marketing event but I see no conflict of interest with this.

Churches don't put on Youth Conferences to lose money.

There has to be an angle somewhere.
