Me too. It was funny and profound.
Bloom County was a great comic strip too! Seems that both Bill Watterson and Berkely Breathed both walked away for similar reasons. I miss them both but perhaps it was for the better because had they never gone out of print, perhaps I would've never discovered the internet or the FFF! 
I GOOGLED why Watterson ceased Calvin and Hobbes and I understand, but it would be nice if he would come out with a book of new material not restricted by the demands of daily deadlines.
