Some local Churches around here have "Beast Feast" events ...

Attention all men and boys!!! Hunters, and non-hunters!!! You are all invited to attend the Calvary Baptist Church's 8th annual Baltimore Beast Feast! Hunters, if you likked it, cook it and bring it. Non-hunters, KFC, Popeyes, and all other forms of the wild and dangerous chicken are welcome to share our table of beasts. Ladies, we need your help as well! Send salads, side dishes or desserts with your men. Door prizes, competitions for ALL ages!! Chili cook-off, displays, vendors, and so much more!!! The fun starts promptly at 12:00 pm. That's HIGH NOON fer you western types!! Dads, bring your sons! Grandads, bring your grandsons! Uncles, bring your nephews! Fellas, bring your brothers, golfing buddies, hunting and fishing buddies! JUST DON'T MISS THIS EVENT!!!

My husband and son have, both are hunters.  It seems to be a positive male bonding and encouragement opportunity.

I remember my church doing a similar outreach, but it's been years.  Sounds like a good excuse for the men and boys to get together, share some fellowship and the Gospel!

Well, not much anymore. Combat pistol competition (IPSC) was my main hobby for a while but it got way too expensive.

at first glance it saw it said.....

and at first i wondered if that might include daughters if they were hunters too..... especially when it said "ladies we need your help too"... ...... then i saw the part about "sending".. your side dishes with the men.....  :....... but i wonder if they will be sending most of the main dishes too?... 

Well ... I suppose they could be discriminating ... but, most Churches are using this as a theme for a men's fellowship. Kind of like a Tea Fellowship for women.

funny.... but i never saw women say... "men we need your help too...."... when they advertised a womens tea fellowship....  :-\ ..... it;s their thing and they can do what they want.... call it what they want....  but if i was a member of that church.... and as a hunter myself.... i would tell the men if they wanted to have an exclusive fellowship with a hunter "beast feast" theme .... then they can do all the killing, cooking, preparing, cleaning and even the sending of side dishes themselves.....

to me it comes across like.... we are the men and we are the mighty hunters!!.... 8)  8)  8)..... but ladies we need your help too.....  ???  :-[

The last time the ladies at our Church had a fellowship the pastor asked men to come and help clean up at the end.
