What essential means to Mat Staver
What essential means to Mat Staver
Tarheel, what's your opinion on this video?
I agree with Alayman.Tarheel, that is a tremendously uplifting picture of the church being what it should in times like this!
I agree with him. If Church can be 'replaced' by a livestream, we're doing something wrong.
We are not gathering for Sunday or Wednesday services except online. That is our choice taking into consideration common sense health concerns.
Our Bible Fellowship Groups are meeting via Zoom.
We are continuing to open our Food Pantry (via a drive thru system) and our volunteer staff have been more than faithful.
We have had 4 funeral services in the past 2 weeks and have served the families as usual...although we did honor the 'gathering guidelines' at the service.
We have delivered food to many of our shut ins.
We have asked our people to 'prayer walk' their neighborhoods with a long term goal to reach their neighbors with the Gospel.
Our buildings are on the busiest road in town and we have a Prayer Tent in our front yard weekdays from 11-1 staffed by one of our Pastors.
People stay in their cars and we offer prayers and encouragement as it is needed.
Our staff and Deacons are calling the most vulnerable members of our church family to offer help/assistance.
For Easter, like many other churches, we plan a drive in service with broadcast via a FM transmitter.
In my opinion, now is not the time for civil disobedience but to use this as an opportunity to show and share the love of Christ.
The time for civil disobedience may come in the future, but I hope not.
Huh?The Church is important. It will never be replaced. Assemblies? They come and go. Most gather together based on personal preferences and weak dogma. Yes. Assemblies can be easily replaced.
I do know many elderly people rely upon stream services for their interactions with the "Church". If you you're not being effective in this area, then you're failing those you claim to want to include.
The "Church" is much larger than a single assembly. Even though they pretend they're not replaceable. God calls us to each other. Gifted to help our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ regardless of how His own try to separate themselves. Gifted people are few and far between. They are called to everyone. Not to "the few" in divided in each assembly.
Which part?Huh?
