Democrat candidate wishes death on political opponents.

In his texts he declared that he thought at least some Republicans deserve to die for their politics, and he extended his death warrant to their children as well — for punitive, persuasive, and societally hygienic reasons.

That's awfully ugly don't you think?

In a joint statement Friday, Virginia Senate Majority Chair Mamie Locke (D) and state Senate President Pro Tempore Louise Lucas (D) said they “will not allow this moment to overshadow the stakes of this election or to distract from the urgent fight we are all in for Virginia’s lawmakers.”

The two senators condemned Jones’s remarks and noted there was no place for political violence, but they added that they know Jones and that the state “cannot afford another four years of Donald Trump and Jason Miyares dragging us backward.”

They have a point. After all, it's not like they are electing him to be a pastor. It's all about policies and they are willing to suck it up and look past his faults and failures.

Mean tweets. Death threats. One thing is not like the other.

Surely you jest?

Liars lie. Thieves steal. Rationalizers rationalize.
And some Christians slander and malign other Christians who try to engage in a culture that is blind to the gospel of Jesus Christ to exalt themselves as being more pure and noble without realizing their own hypocrisy. Besides sitting anonymously behind a keyboard constantly berating other Christians who actually dare mention the name of Jesus in the public square as Charlie Kirk did, tell us what great things you are doing for Christ. I once again ask the question, “If Christians who supported and voted for Donald Trump instead of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have compromised the gospel then tell us who you voted for so next time we deceived Christian Nationalists will finally know who is righteous enough to receive our votes.” Otherwise, keep your mouth shut with your moral equivalency between mean tweets and calling for the death of fellow Americans.

Sure I killed 31 people but at least I didn't eat them. JW Gacey.

Speech that advocates violence, the kind that we've seen here recently on both sides of the political aisle, is a different beast altogether. Conflating those two only muddies the water for this conversation.

James 2:9-11

King James Version

9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

Now maybe we can see how aligning ourselves with the world takes away any credibility we might have had to speak against such things.

This is where I, and I think others are losing you. How does participating in the political process, in and of itself, equate to "aligning ourselves with the world"?

When Alayboy was little one of the best pediatricians in our area was a known homosexual. Should I not have taken Alayboy to him because in doing so I was "aligning with the world"?

Context.

I'm not trying to curry favor with billionaire Donald, nor is he in my church. I'm trying to keep our country from going down the toilet.

Jesus said that lusting in the heart is equal to the physical sin of adultery in the eyes of God. Would it not also carry over into the rest of our words thoughts and deeds? If man commits character assassination is that not sin?

The yeast leavens the whole lump does it not? Or was God guilty of conflating things with this warning?

I’m over here clutching my pears Sub.
And they are my moral equivalence strand!!

Voting Trump = lusting in your heart.
Saying black tranny (whoever did that)= killing Charlie Kirk.

Hallelujah!

In the Corinthian Church, do you think there may have been some genuinely pious Christians who were fighting against the yeast among them? Separation doesn't have to be an all or none proposition.

Some sins are greater than other sins (John 19:11). I know that, you know that, everybody and his brother knows that. You can gaslight some of the people some of the time, but you can’t gaslight all of the people all of the time. To equate running a red light with cold blooded murder is despicable. Equating mean tweets with cold blooded murder is just as despicable. The guy who is running for attourney general of Virgiania wanted to see the children killed in their mother’s arms and you make a joke out of it.

No. That would be living in the world.

Aligning with the world is adopting the world's attitude, vocabulary and values which I have watched the church do in my lifetime and see it in action here frequently. Has anyone else besides me pointed out the underlying problem with mocking phrases like "black trannys"? No. And why not? Because we have developed: an inability to speak against such, grown numb to our own dehumanizing behavior, have developed a taste for the sin inherent in that or have become unable to see past their sin and have Christ like compassion for sinners. Charlie Kirk was a great example of the opposite.
