I kill 'em when I see 'em, and I can sometimes get ones that are signed up but haven't spammed yet, too. When I look at the moderator logs, I see abcaines and FSSL are doing some brisk business there as well.

We're on it. And yes, there have been more than the usual amount this week from what I've seen.

When I see a spam thread, I ban the user, ban any other users on the same IP address, and kill the thread. It's about three clicks for us. If you post to the thread before then, your post will be collateral damage.

Just out of curiosity, do these bots originate from companies or spammers in other countries? It seems like a lot of them are advertising online casinos.

I've seen IP addresses from all over. I assume from the language that many at least originate in Russia, even if they're using an IP address in, say, the States or Brazil. But they all fill out their info in the same manner, too, so it's clear they're all affiliated.

I’m assuming when I read there are something like “2 members and 70 guests online,” the safe assumption is that nearly all of the “guests” are probably bots.

I watched this video and still haven’t a clue how bots work! 😆

Possibly, but I'd still hazard a guess that a fair number of those are also referred here from some random Google search.
