The Dr Evan’s has passed thread reflects a generational change that takes place regularly.
I recently attended a college reunion of those who attended Liberty in the 70’s. Those who were once well known campus ‘celebrities’ were unknown by most of the current staff and student body. We had a great time, laughed and swapped stories but we were not relevant or crucial to the future of the school. I found the exact same atmosphere at my 50th High School reunion.

As to Dr Evans and Hyles, they have seen the normal generational changes plus the continued effect of the Hyles Schaap ‘scandals’…Liberty has the Falwell Jr idiocy to contend with. Truthfully Dr Evans, a great man in many ways I’m sure, was not known or appreciated by many of the current staff, students and church members.

All of that ^^^ is commonplace yet we (older generation) usually are surprised by how, why or that it happened. Evidently I’m not the only old geezer on the forum. 😊

For as tied to tradition as IFBs claim to be, this sort of thing seems pretty universal. I have observed similar things at PCC when Mrs. abcaines and I visited a couple years ago.
