In another thread, it is written that many families left FBC for various reasons, some for the DH incidents in the 80's, some for the VN accusations in the 90's, etc.

My question is, how many families have returned to FBC?  I know that Jerry Vargo has returned and is on staff, and I believe that I've recognized former deacons who had left and now have returned.  While watching the live streamed services, you think that you recognize some, although 20 years may have passed by since you've last seen them, so wondering if someone looks familiar, or is it really a former family who has returned to FBC.

Can anyone help or give info?

None.

Maybe a few HAC dropouts found a new idol.

The problem with returning is that the Dave Hyles and Jim Vineyard scandals are still in progress--several weeks ago, the church even gave an ovation to Dave Hyles. Other scandals, such as the falsifying of HAC records, grades, and awards are also still in progress. The stand of the church is that they will permit no new scandals but will continue to cover-up the current ones.

The advantage of returning is that FBCH provides a lot more areas of service than most churches, the preaching is more interesting, and the music program is better than most. A lay person could reason that he is not involved in the sins, so he should accept the advantages.

Just another reason I don't use a 4" screen for the forum.
