Non-proportional to the poor, Rich people lack faith.

James 2:5-7

5 Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?
6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Are not the rich the ones who oppress you, and the ones who drag you into court?
7 Are they not the ones who blaspheme the honorable name by which you were called?

1 Corinthians 1:26-29

26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.
27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,
29 so that no one may boast before him.

Rich corporations are not paying their employees though they have money to sustain their business through this crisis. It is not the Government's (We the people) responsibility to take their place.
I John 3:17

But if anyone has the world’s goods (RICH) and sees his brother in need,(POOR) yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?

Headline grabbing gifts from the Rich aren't what they seem. However, they receive the majority of the PRAISE.

Luke 21

1 Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box,
2 and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins.b
3 And he said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them.
4 For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”

And who is deciding whose businesses are "non-essential" and must remain closed?

So called "leaders" struggling to be relative and "one up" each other.
So let them compensate employees. Government shuttered the businesses, so let government bear the cost of keeping people, whom they've put out of work, from going bankrupt and starving.

This man has zero understanding of government. He must be Canadian.

You'll have to explain that to the American libertarian whom I heard say it first.

Your employer has the means of paying his employees. It's called providing goods and services. He has had that means declared "non-essential" and taken away from him. By the government. He pays taxes. So does his employees. To the government. Since the government has taken away their means of support, the government can give back some of the taxes it has collected, to live on until industry and commerce can return to normal. Not difficult, really.

A libertarian who is a moron? I guess so.

Government can only give what they steal. Government produces nothing. It ALL falls on the common taxpayer. There is nothing FREE from the government! (That point is being made on this latest attempt to get control of churches with this COVID-19 fiasco money from the gov for "businesses". The fine print will sink any church that takes part in that.)

Well, good, then you agree with what I said.
"let government bear the cost"

Nope. Government cannot "bear" when it does not produce. Go back to your socialist Trudeau and have him explain it to you.

Fine, whatever. Let government refund people's taxes to live on until this blows over. Doesn't change my intended meaning in the slightest, Clarabell.
