Is there a way to access posts from like 20 years ago?

Unfortunately this forum has only existed since 2012, and the past incarnations are history. Some Wayback Machine wizardry is the best I can suggest.

I am so glad. I was on there and am embarrassed at some of the things I did and said.

I went to the wayback machine and read some of the coolest stuff we said back in the day. I watched a 12 minute video on how to use it and it is amazing how much you can find.

Katrina didn't like us.........she wiped us out. Maybe it was you and your trolls. :)

Such a collection of IFB history lost in the other two sites, like the volumes of Alexandria destroyed by fire. Where are the mad hat hackers and the NSA specialists when you need them most. Oh to recover such treasures from the past.

Some of it is there and recoverable. The problem is that forums like this one (and Don's original site as well) store their posts in databases, and Web scrapers like the Wayback Machine can't access that directly--only what was publicly visible as a Web page at the moment the bot visited.

A determined person could probably glean a good deal of it, but it would take some wizardry and a whole lot of perseverance.

I wrote some pretty decent longer articles on the dot-com incarnation. Someday I might try to see what I can recover. I may find out if I've got that kind of patience.
