I want to be a woman. … It’s my right as a man,” the character claims “I want to have babies… It’s every man’s right to have babies if he wants them.” After Cleese’s protest, the character snaps, “Don’t you oppress me!

I read the article. In younger days I tried to get into Mony Python humor but other than the parrot sketch, just couldn't connect with it.

This sketch is oddly prophetic. John Cleese is as liberal as they come but even he refuses to cave to woke cancel culture. Very telling.

I'm glad because this was hilarious! John Cleese is not a Conservative but he is definitely not woke! He did do an interview with Babylon Bee not too long ago.

Wasn't a big Python watcher either, but their satire and comedy was at least challenging and generally well-put together, which is one reason why he rightly is firmly standing his ground defending the right to not be so offended by keen insight into human nature. Translation: "get some thicker skin", and generally I agree.
