Excellent and for those who won't read the whole article here are the main points whcih speak for themselves.

The Dangers of Lording Leadership

BY CARY SCHMIDT

What Lording Over God’s Heritage Looks Like?

Lording leaders ask for sole authority or “veto power”

Lording leaders over-emphasize their authority

Lording leaders usurp other authorities

Lording leaders are angry or brutish

Lording leaders emphasize law over grace

Lording leaders under-estimate the power of God’s Spirit

Lording leaders lead by fear, shame, guilt, or man-induced pressure

Lording leaders don’t want people to think

Lording leaders want absolute authority and no accountability
And the sad part is that when presented with these points the Lording leaders all say "not me"  and dismiss even the possibility of there being any truth to what is said.

Hopefully the ones reading this site will take note and humble themselves.  It would be amazing what the Lord could do with them.

Oh please....Cary Schmidt did much of this himself.

Does he only recognize those traits in others?

I have never heard of the guy. I found the thoughts helpful.

If you are saying that a man must perfectly model all truth he ever preaches then no one will ever be able to preach truth. In fact I would say, having a burning desire to throw a thought back in a man's face is evidence that the thrower do not trust the Holy Spirit to teach and guide. This was one of the indicative things on his list BTW.

Maybe you are right and I am wrong but I am still a big fan of benefit of the doubt.

Maybe he realized the error of his ways, repented, and now wants to help others see what he saw. I don't know. I never heard of him or followed him but the truth listed is definitely something that every pastor should read and consider how they are leading.

subllibrm and JustABigKid are right.

One thing I know for sure is that in all my years in the IFBx world I never once heard any of those points preached against as they were presented presented but I have seen every one practiced as presented by the "preacher".

So the fact that he mentioned and presented them as he did tells me something.

Anyone under this type of "lording leader" needs to run away from them and that church immediately!!!

It was not uncommon to hear one thing from that pulpit while having them do the opposite. There was a lot of double-speak happening. So until I hear a public repentance with specifics, I will not give another benefit of the doubt.

Ever? To anyone?  ???

Maybe that is why he left off point number 10

10.  Lording leaders are full of double speak. (remember the rules do not apply to them!!)
