Which is why I'm supporting Bernie and donating to Planned Parenthood.
And, I'm no longer listening to Rush.
Or watching Fox News.
I plan to join the NRA so I can disavow my membership.
And I'm sending the Commie Socialist democrat lady in NY a donation.

Who says the fff doesn't change hearts and minds.... ;)

Why do evangelicals still support Donald Trump (or at least his presidency even if they decry the man)?

What other choice do we have.

Trump is bad.  He says bad things.  He makes himself look foolish.  He lies...repeatedly.  His morals make Bill Clinton look like Billy Graham.  President Trump praises brutal dictators for no other reason other than they say nice things about him.  He is an embarrassment to all conservatives and is totally unworthy of the office he holds.

Yet, his policies are 100 times better than any leftist alternative.  The reality is (despite our desire to wash our hands) you either support President Trump or you support Hillary Clinton/Elizabeth Warren/Bernie Sanders.  You support Capitalism or Socialism.  You support Liberty or modern day McCarthyism.  You support "God and Country" or you support full secularism.  I wish there was a 3rd alternative.....a quality statesman that operates outside of traiditional politics and truly improves the country.  We all know that any criticism of the President wouldn't help anyone but the Leftists.

Trump has mostly good policies and I can't argue with his economic results.  He is putting two (possibly) good justices on the Supreme Court.  He defends religious freedom (at least until mainstream Christianity decries him.)  People like me begrudgingly support him because the only alternative is so much worse.

Donald Trump is a President that is sympathetic to conservative political values, has been able to get rid of many of the liberal policies and also appoint conservative judges to the Supreme Court.  I do not support him as a moral leader or example.  As God used Cyrus or the vicious Chaldeans, so He can also use Donald Trump  (or anyone else our sovereign Lord desires to).

There is a third way. Support what is supportable and condemn that which should be condemned. Listening to many
Christians, making any negative statement is the equivalent of whole hardheartedly supporting .... take your pick.

That is not how reasoned thinking or reasonable communication is accomplished.

Gods "used" Pharaoh as well. What we don't see is Moses making excuses for him.

With President Trump, I try to call "balls and strikes."  I praise him when he does good and condemn him when he doesn't.  However, policies outweigh personality. That is why I support what he does legislatively but I don't support him personally.  I feel compelled to temper my criticism of him in order to not derail the good things he does do.  I don't feel the need to "rail" against him like his enemies do but I don't want to give him "Sean Hannity" level support.

I don't believe Donald Trump is being "used" by God.  He may "flatter God with his lips, but his heart is far from him."  He may do some good things for Christianity "short term", but our unbridled embracing of him will hurt us "long term."
