I only played soccer once in school. I understand folks get revved up in the heat of the moment. This young person got a Red Card? I'm a newbie and have not watched more than a few minutes of a game. He chose to plow right into the ref. It does seem like young folks are not using good judgement.Player tackles ref causing A collapsed lung and broken ribs. What would be an appropriate punishment for this player?
bannishment from all sports for the rest of his school career is what i would do.... .... i know that sounds harsh but young people need to learn they can;t do things like that... ...... of course i;m saying that as a kid who grew up in hawaii and was either present at or directly involved in more than a few scrapes.... . . i might have even caused a few...Player tackles ref causing A collapsed lung and broken ribs. i never played soccer... .. was never a fan of soccer either... ... . ..the sports i;m a big fan of are womens rugby7s... and womens college softball..... .also australian style womens football.. ..what they call "footy" ... ..all 3 are sports i think i could have played and would have enjoyed if i had been coordinated as a teenager.. ....... but since i wasn;t i was enrolled in dance in highschool.. ..... that helped me become coordinated... but still not as coordinated as my adopted siblings who were all super athletes..... .i could tell a lot of stories about sports scrapes they were in.. .....never anything as bad as what that kid in the story did ..... . but close to it.....I only played soccer once in school. Last I heard they were still deciding how He would be corrected. I have an idea. He can do the coaches yard work for him. Just in to time to rake the leaves. Put him to work around the school too. He first should write an apology letter to the ref. Not a life ban but something that makes him think about what he did every single day. Pastoral council sessions would be a great help.Charge him with assault. I’m a pretty big sports junkie, but I have a super low tolerance for such unsportsmanlike, unethical, and illegal behavior by presumptuous punks who think they can cross lines without any significant criminal penalties.
