Accepting the principle that the Bible is a self-containing and self-interpreting Book, and that it is not necessary to go outside of it for satisfactory information, it may be possible that Job the son of Issachar (Gen 46:13) is the person meant here;  that he went down to Egypt with his father, being about 20 years of age;  that he left Egypt later on for the land of Uz (see Gen 22:20, Jer 25:20);  that he was 70 years of age at the time of his great trial;  and, assuming that the double blessing of chapter 42:10, included a double of his then age of 70, he lived to be 210 (70 and 140);  and Moses, at that time being 55 years of age, and already fifteen years in Midian, was, therefore, competent to be the writer of this book, and, possibly knew Job personally.  (George Williams - 1850-1928)

If it is Job, himself, then it is quite a testament to this author to write quite candidly about the transition in his thinking about God.
