I watched a video commentating on the life of George Beverly Shea.

I searched for *why* his middle name was Beverly.  Couldn't find an answer but did find this interesting article that shows it as both a boy and girl name.  Usage has dropped off almost to nothing in current times.

I've heard, from a very good source,  that Toby Weaver's legal name is Beverly.  He and George Beverly Shea are the only two
males that I know of with that in their first or middle name.
