The Who Demands Sovereignty Over Your Listening Playlist

aka John Entwistle asserts sovereignty over the bass.

Drumming in that song is pretty crazy too.

Well, tell me who are you?

I tried to like the Who, I mean they're classic rock, but it just didn't fly with me. Eminence Front is about the only tune of theirs I like.

i know a lot of people my age that like the who.... . and also a few other bands that technically were before our time.. and music that during any other recent era might have been put in the oldies bin.... ....i credit that to the downward spiral that rap, hiphop and other newer forms of modern "music" has put the music listening world into..... ...when nothing new is written that worth listening to - you tend to hold on to the older works longer.... ..i guess it;s kinda like keeping an old car running and up to speed because all the new cars you see coming out ar pieces of junk.....

i was listening to a classic dobie gray song from 1970s on youtube once... and when i looked down at the comments i saw someone had written... "i was born in 80s... songs like this make me feel i should apologize for what my generation has done to music.... "

it had hundreds of thumbs up attached to it ...and i could not have agreed more....

Took me a long time to warm up to them, too. But about the time I heard their album Quadrophenia (from which the song at the top of the thread is the lead track), I realized I was hearing some darn fine musicians.

Right. Not saying anything about their musicianship; they just aren't my cup o' tea.

Never was a fan of their music. Saw Tommy as a small child and it freaked me out. Townsend’s claims of doing “research” on pedophilia and Bank culpability sounded like an excuse right out of the Dave Hyles playbook, not buying it.

The Acid Queen, right?

Edit...

Just looked up the synopsis of this musical. What a torrid tale. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

There were boatloads of inappropriate content in that, especially for a young boy, but this is probably one that unsettled me more than the rest (Warning: Don’t watch if you’re easily offended!)…
