...and if you don't think that nonsense is getting closer to happening here I've got some swamp land to sell you in Arizona.

And after checking the closet and under her bed they also found no monsters.

Where's Ransom? Surprised he hasn't chimed in on this yet.

:)

I read it yesterday. Of course it's stupid. If the school thought there was a legitimate problem, they could have talked first. Instead the school board, Children's Aid and the Waterloo Regional Police wound up with egg on their faces because nowhere along the chain of command did someone stop to think, "Gee, don't you think we might be overreacting a little bit here?"

That said, before you start laughing at us "crazy Canadians," your schools have had this same zero-tolerance crap for years. First-graders suspended for having plastic knives to spread butter on their lunches, six-year-olds suspended for making a gun with their fingers and saying "Bang," children expelled from school for lending their asthma inhalers. Stupidity reigns on both sides of the border.

In memory of Ransom's compassion. .... may his loving compassion be remembered...

ah, never mind . . . I should look more closely at the dates on these resurrected threads.

Laughed at in memory of Yeezy's sense of humour.

The unfortunate way this poor guy was treated aside, it's worth noting that Canada's per capita gun homicide rate is roughly one-seventh that in the United States.  So maybe those Canadians aren't so crazy after all.

2012 firearms homicides in the U.S.:  8813
2012 firearms homicides in Canada:    172

I'm sure those gun laws will work in my favor exactly like Obamacare has for me.
