Praises them? Or, recognizes the intelligence behind the danger they pose?
I guess that depends on one’s interpretation. According to the article: “Trump’s remarks drew condemnations both domestically and abroad Wednesday and Thursday, including from his Republican presidential rivals.”

My point exactly.
You want direct quotes? OK…

It is absurd that anyone, much less someone running for President, would choose now to attack our friend and ally, Israel, much less praise Hezbollah terrorists as ‘very smart,’” said Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.“

Better?

or we could just hear what trump actually said by watching a replay of his speech....
and making our own minds up about his comments .....rather than trying to wade

through the pre-digested and regurgitated analysis of crooked and politically
motivated news anchors... or the shaded comments of political rivals....
.
fast forward to the 2 minute mark if you want to hear only what pertained to his
remarks on hezbollah..... he wasn;t praising hezbollah... he was saying in his
unique trumpian way that organizations like hezbollah should not be under-
estimated or presumed to be stupid...... underestimating an enemy is the
best way to guarantee our own defeat.....

< caution... video contains strong language some viewers may find offensive >

Most people are so driven by moment to moment comments made by newscasters that they won't take the 5 minutes necessary to actually listen to what people say.

I stand by it being inappropriate.

Nope, I’m just not a Trump apologist. He’s his own worst enemy.

Without passing judgment on this particular speech of Trump's--he's known for saying stupid and poorly-worded things, and this may or may not be one of them--I hope his Christian detractors are equally ready to condemn books, sermons, etc. on spiritual warfare that say "Satan is smart" as a warning.

Well, regardless of how one falls on this topic, one thing is for sure, I believe people posting videos clips of Trump speeches on this forum might need to start posting “caution: strong language warning” prior to posting. I lost count of the curse words, but I definitely heard the s-word, h-word, d-word, etc.”

fair enough ...and duly noted..... ..video post has been edited to give viewers warning.... my apologies for the previous oversight...

I'd much prefer to hear truth with strong language than polite lies; especially if it's spoken by someone with present or future power.

Hezbollah is smart. Israel did let the ball down.

No matter what Trump says, it's going to be distorted by someone. I learned that, listening to him in 2016 as he spoke about Mexicans: what he really said about them as opposed to what the press said he said. Also, I heard him with my own ears as he spoke on May 6 and what he said as opposed to what the press said he said.

I didn't hear the speech referenced and I'm sure he did use some spicy language but I'm almost sure he told the truth no matter how tactless it may have been.
