We have a new Pope.

American. I did not see that coming but now there's been a pope from both Americas South and North.

I’m very happy to see a “younger,” American pope. Although I’m not Catholic, I do consider myself somewhat a hybrid Catholic due to my schooling, so I wish His Holiness Pope Leo XIV the best.

Off the top of my head, I can’t think of but a couple of things I agree with the Catholics on. Salvation being at the top of my disagreement list.

On a less serious note, here’s the pope’s brother being interviewed. Great interview.

I read the transcript of his first speech, there was lots on 'God loving everyone',but the gospel was missing (akin to John 3:16). He did manage to throw in a 'hail Mary'. This session will be interesting.

There is a reason the Protestant Reformation took place and it wasn’t because people hated Catholics. The Roman Catholic Church perverted the gospel of Christ and made its participants a two-fold child of hell. Christians should never arrogantly condemn friends or relatives in that system but have compassion by lovingly showing them that religiosity doesn’t equate to salvation. I believe there are saved people in the Catholic Church that grew up in that system and in spite of its teachings personally came to the point of repentance and faith in Christ alone but for some reason never broke with the Church. The same could be said of those who grew up in some Baptist churches that teach salvation as having a head knowledge of Christ and believing that walking an aisle and saying a prayer is the same as being born again. This video clearly explains what the Catholic Church really teaches.
