The media has been yakking about the “attack” by Mr. Trump on Nikki Haley’s husband. I haven’t been able to find a full transcript so the context is fuzzy. Essentially the comment was “where’s her husband?” which seems an odd thing to even bring up. Anyone know what the point of the comment was?

Wouldn't break my heart to have Haley as the nominee.

It would definitely change the Dems strategy.

ANYONE EXPECT BIDEN '24

I don’t get why he even mentioned it.

I don’t have any problem with her being the GOP candidate.

Oh, good Lord, NO! I would hate to see her as the Republicans choice of the nominee. She didn't do that great of a job as the governor of the State of South Carolina. She raised taxes and statistics show that the state was worse off than when she took office. I have many relatives that live in the state, and I can tell you that their standard of living did NOT improve under her leadership.

Those seem like issues worth discussing. Much more so than her husband.

I agree, in a normal person's world, but the "offensive language" link pretty much nails his motive for bringing it up. He's an odd little man.

This is anything but a normal campaign, but I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out that he, true to form, mentioned it to retaliate for something she jabbed him with.

Haley's actual competence to govern would seem to be substantial issues to discuss in a political campaign.

More so than the nontroversies the dimbulbs want to keep raising, like the whereabouts of her husband (currently deployed in Africa) or her name (she goes by her middle name, which is nothing unusual, and "Nikki" is a common Punjabi girl's name).

I personally don't care where her husband is, what he is doing, nor whom he is doing it with. As far as her name goes, that's a non-issue as well.

I agree, though if he was in Russia, China, Iraq or North Korea in a non governmental capacity I would be very concerned. Also if I knew he had ties to any of our emenies then it would be relevant..

Since there was no indication of either I think it's a clear example of Trump talking out of turn as they say. Can you imagine what it would be like to be in the Trump communication dept. You know he does not listen to a word they say.

and ..she bailed out and abandoned the one job she was really good at - where she was serving the country well and having a great effect.... u.s. ambassador to the united nations... ..that;s what took her off my list of hopeful future presidents... ....i liked her before that... but i have no respect for a quitter, or anyone who takes on a big responsibility and walks away or doesn;t see it through.....

but... . if she ends up being the republican nominee in the election then i will vote for her.... .i will vote for any republican over biden ..and over any democrat for that matter too - no matter where their husband/wife - significant other or insignificant ex-other might be....

That's simply not true. His covid response was very much a deference to his advisers, as well as his initial cabinet choices.
And it bit him in the [hind quarters]... Especially Anthony Fauci.

I'm referring to the things he says, not the policies he supports.

Like his Bleach comment and 100's of other comments. Most of his policies are very sound, but his off the cuff statements are so embarrassing. Richard Nixon, Reagan or either Bush would never have made such comments off the cuff. His random comments and tweets are so unpresidental and hurt his cause and the whole party. Once again most of his policies were and are great for American, but his ego & his persona is a national disgrace. If you search "off the wall" or "crazy" Trump comments on youtube you will find 100's of them.

Ya, well, get real! His background was as a businessman, NOT a politician with years of practice lying and deceiving millions to keep his job while NEVER actually having any proof of accomplishing anything. His "off the cuff" remarks have often been distorted by the left wing media and socialist politicians, as well as members of the Republican Party.

Many presidents were businessmen before they were first elected to public office. Some were even lawyers.

I recall one was a peanut farmer.

Yep, one was a peanut farmer... and I guess he wanted Americans to have to work for and live on peanuts! One of the worst POTUS' in the history of our country...and you neglected to mention that though he was a businessman, he also had a background in politics before becoming president.
