Just finished A Pale View of Hills by Kazuo Ishiguro.

Right now I'm working on Sinclair Lewis' Elmer Gantry. I blame Todd Bentley being in the public eye again.

4 more months and then the second part of the book i posted
a picture of up above ..
the cabinet of dr leng.... comes out
.... .
angel of vengence ... ... i hate it when authors do this...
i would rather they just wrote and published a really long book
.... all at once... .. then i can read it in sections if i want to or
become obsessed and read it all the way through in a week
of long days and sleepless nights.. ... but it would be my
choice.... ....i would not have to wait a year and half.....:cautious:

I like how this thread pops up every 6 months to a year.

I read too much in a year to list, but the last month or so, more or less:

  • The Guns of Avalon, Roger Zelazny
  • Journey to the West, Vol. 1, Wu Cheng'en
  • The Chinese Parrot, Earl Derr Biggers
  • I, Robot, Isaac Asimov
  • Elevation, Stephen King
  • Firing Point, Mike Maden
  • The Word in the Wilderness, Malcolm Guite
  • No Enemy but Time, Michael Bishop

Along with a handful of completely frivolous novellas and comic books.

that;s an impressive reading list.. .. and more than i would be able
to read in a year.. much less a month.... .. i love sci-fi and fantasy
books and i will probably check out no enemy but time when i can
..... . like every other game of thrones fan i;m still waiting for season

2 of house of the dragon to start....... .i have the books already but
decided not to read all of it coz i really don;t like george martins writing

style... ... ...but i did start reading douglas prestons stand alone book
the lost tomb while waiting for part 2 of the last pendergast book to come

out.... .....the lost tomb is a collection of short stories on some of prestons
own archaelogy adventures plus accounts of things that i think inspired some
of their ficitonal novels.... ..... ..... pretty good so far.....

I just got Audible. It's a game changer for me. I've listened to Out of Africa two times. Did you know Isak Denisen discusses her Christianity in the book and Denys Finch Hatton memorized most of the Old Testament? The book is better than the film, and I liked the film.

Also listening to Atomic Habits. Really good stuff and written in an interesting way.

i got this one today.... it just came out.. ... but i have
to finish the lost tomb... first... before i start it....
. i;m not a very fast reader and i always end up a few
books behind if they are published close together...📖
