Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth

Do you dislike the KJV or do you oppose people to choose it as their preferred version or is it just the KJVO position you have the problem with..

I have read the KJV over 50 years. I accept the KJV as what it actually is.
I do not dislike the KJV, and I do not oppose people who prefer it.

It is the non-scriptural KJV-only position with its dependence upon fallacies and its use of unjust measures [double standards] to which I object.

H.D.M. SPENCE, in 'Ellicott's Commentary on the Whole Bible:" "The Greek word translated in the English version 'rightly dividing,' literally signifies 'cutting a straight line.' It seems most correct to regard it as a metaphor from laying out a road. . . ."
What is this trash?

"Laying out like a road"? That implies differences. There are no differences in scripture, I've heard some Covenant Theologians still sacrifice animals and keep the law today. The law still applies as always.

The New Versions are way better. They remove all of the words and foster peace between Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Catholics.

The words of God are not absolute. They are open to interpretation. Don't be closed minded.

Then why do the Mormons use the KJV?

If you mean by "open to interpretation" the words had to be interpreted from the Greek and Hebrew as they did for the KJV, then you would be correct.

Thanks all, for your input and your comments.

Sorry if I kinda hijacked the original thread.

Carry on

Does someone want to explain to me why someone named "Calvin the Crazy" was posting and then they changed this to appear as though the UGC account posted it?

We obviously did not post that post.
