Rona party at my house

There is no way that number is accurate. Even if it is 50 percent accurate, it is definitely too many.

I will try to explain how overblown of a deal this is to the family of a dear lady we just lost to Covid from our congregation.

I stood by the grave of my mother and many other while whispering "I'll meet you on the other side". I know what it is to beginning knowing more people that have passed on from this life than I do that are alive. I know what it is to lose. We all lose. FYI. I have friends that have lost family members to the disease. My wife has an uncle that may never walk again because of it. So don't try to play games of "insensitivity" with me. When my mother died I didn't blame the doctor or the disease that finally took her last breath.

At the same time, facts are facts, I'm not going to believe inflated numbers just because something bad happened to those involved. I'm not going to be dishonest because I'm hurting myself.

The CDC (RANSOM's mancrush) stated that only 6% died from COVID-only.

Dr. Judy Mikovits is doubting that a viral agent is responsible for most of these deaths.

So ya'll go back into "lockdown", even though they don't work, and keep wearing your masks.

The truth is somewhere in the middle. I have little doubt it will be at least twice as bad as H1N1 and that is the sickest I've ever been. At the same time, I don't have to believe Alayman's nonsense either. You would think a chemist would know more than he does.

I still want to know how Fauci got away with telling everyone masks don't work...... which causing thousands of lives to be lost and he isn't in jail?

Now that nut wants to force them everywhere. I wear a mask to keep people from wanting to kill me but I have little doubt it doesn't work nearly as well as they say they do. In fact, it makes things worse in some scenerios. If you can't keep your hands off your mask, the mask is making you spread the disease more than you would if you didn't wear it.

BOOM!

My wife & I have the rona. When I was a kid and had chicken pox, my mom told the neighborhood moms to send their kids over so they could get it too. The Rona party is BYOB + BMST.

For me, it's been mostly like a mild sinus cold plus mild flu. There have been a few days that I woke up feeling like I had been beaten with a ball bat. I've never had a fever or lost taste or smell. No real breathing difficulties although when taking a deep breath, it did feel like my chest was constricted in some way.

My wife's symptoms have been a little more severe than me. Besides the symptoms I have, she's had fever & chills and she says her sense of smell has diminished.

3 of our 4 kids still live at home but none of them have symptoms. Two are still waiting for test results, and the other tested negative. It's weird in a household of 5 to not see the others very much. The 3 kids are pretty much staying in their rooms.

Not sure where we were infected. We suspect it was when we voted. I've been working at home since March, so I don't get out much. My wife is a nail tech, but everyone wears masks and none of her clients have told her they are infected.

I think today is day 10 since we 1st noticed symptoms. It does seem like we both are starting to feel better.
I don't post often, but I do follow, especially the posts of friends with prayer requests. I hope you are encouraged to know that I have been praying for you and your family this past week.

Be Well!

Thank you!

I am feeling much better. It is day 14 for both my wife and me. She is feeling much better as well. I am hopeful that all my symptoms will be gone in the next few days (and hers). I had/have a relatively minor case. My wife's symptoms were only slightly more severe. All 3 kids still at home tested negative and continue to not show any symptoms.

Today is our 2nd son's birthday. Sadly, we won't be able to have him over to celebrate.

Here's a Canadian "quack" (just calling him what Ransom will call him) that is just "nuts"!

Hodkinson remarked that “social distancing is useless because COVID is spread by aerosols which travel 30 meters or so before landing,”

Hmmm. So Twisted has now cited two "authorities" to tell us that there's no COVID-19 virus, but it spreads via aerosols.

LOL!

You hear that dragging sound? That's Twisted moving the goalposts because his last claim (that there's no virus) got obliterated by reality, so he's flinging something else at the wall.

Your deflections are childish. I've never said there was "no virus". My claim is that they never proven WHAT exactly is making people sick. And they haven't.

But your claims are not merely that you think there's problems identifying the exact source of sickness. You go MUCH further by implying the CDC and government agents are cooking the books on mortality rates. Even if those numbers are over-estimates (and many sources maintain the numbers are actually under estimated) by two times as asserted by your lil buddy earlier in the thread it is still AT LEAST DOUBLE the numbers of deaths in any given worst-case flu season (with only a little more than 8 months of tallying, not even considering we haven't entered prime flu season yet). It's insane to even debate with people who are so bound to make their arguments by ignoring every legitimate piece of data that disproves their own echo-chamber biased perspective.

You are missing the forest for the trees. My argument is not one about shaming people into submission, but rather that it is obvious that this real pandemic is affecting massive sectors of our society in an undeniable way, and though the answer for how to fix it is incredibly complex and shouldn't involve wholesale shutdowns, I don't think it unreasonable to consider temporary austerity measures (masks, distancing, etc) as a helpful potential solution. And the last thing I wanna hear from a bunch of "conservative Bible believing compassionate for the lost and dying world" Christians is how our desire to save at-risk lives should take a backseat to libertarian cries of "I ain't wearing no stinkin' mask"!

OK, to be precise, you claim we've never seen a SARS-CoV-2 virus and can't know that's what causes COVID-19, but here's your Canadian virologist saying this unseen, unknown and unproven virus can travel 30 m via aerosols.

Oh, yeah, that makes your position a LOT less stupid.

I haven't missed anything. I don't want to hurt anyone but there really isn't a way to control this unless we have an strict quarantine. Even then, it may even be nothing more than delaying the inevitable. What I can't support is the silly methods people are using to try to calm people down. Either shut it down for months or let people live. There really isn't anything "in-between". This nonsense about T-shirt masks doing much of anything is absolutely ridiculous. It is nothing more than political power on display.

Contrary to what you might think, I'm for the vaccine. I'll take it. Thank God for modern medicine. However, I know that the vaccine may become useless in a matter of months. We just don't know. You can't live your life like they want us to live now. We are just a few steps away from Communist rules.... and people are ready to accept them over fear of this virus.

Watch. If this gets much worse, you're going to see the government try to censor free speech on the subject. They're already trying to get society to willingly accept anything they have to say about it without question. I have a right to question their message and their requirements. Anyone does. They demanding people shut-up and obey.

Tell you what. Empower people to self quarantine without fear of losing everything they have and let others choose to go about their daily lives as they always have. You get what you want. I get what I want.

This crap of forcing people to all do the same thing is contrary the American way of life. It is called freedom. As much as I don't like it, people are free to be stupid....... no matter what side you think is stupid.

When it comes down to it, as you have just demonstrated again, people are exerting a prioritization of their freedom and rights over the reality that their small sacrifice could save multiple hundreds and thousands of lives. A little patience with implementing temporary austerity measures while waiting for these vaccines to come in could make a big difference, but people demanding their individual freedoms to not have to wear a stinking mask are more important than a few minor sacrifices that save lives. It just does not make sense to me that a Christian people particularly would think so lightly of other people's lives.

And as far as the libertarian leaning claims against government intrusion or overreach, and letting the disease inevitably play out via herd immunity and laissez-faire approach, how's that working out for Sweden?
