Do you think there’s any bellwether indications in how close it appears to be in ‘blue’ Virginia?
Virginia constantly disappoints, though. I remember a few years ago (it may have been last time McCauliffe ran there was a popular repub running and I think he lost by a few thousand votes. It depends on how well McCauliffe has done at painting him as a Trump candidate. In the DC suburbs the Repubs were very anti trump. Northern VA is the heart of the anti trumpers.

Virginia is conservative outside of the beltway and tidewater areas. And that’s where the population centers are located. The fact that the polls are so close indicates things are not well in Biden-land. But, like you, I’m not getting my hopes up.

Ya, they are becoming the next Maryland. In presidential elections there are typically only two or three counties that vote dem in MD, but those counties have about 85% of the population.

We can only hope so, but I fear that polarization is the wave of all of the near-term elections, and Covid/CRT/Woke-Culture only seems to be solidifying that divisive trend all the more.

I am hoping that Youngkin wins, and that it is a bellweather. There was a CNN Opinion piece that said that he will most likely win, and that Dems will learn nothing from it, and lose seats in the midterm elections. And that was CNN!
I'm hoping they're correct!

I'm glad Trump didn't do any campaigning for this race.
It was interesting. It seems Youngkin did a good enough job convincing norther Virginia that he wasn't a Trump clone and Mcaulliffe did a good enough job convincing rural Virginia that Youngkin was a Trump clone.

Now soy boy megachurch pastor Joel McCarty will do a sermon series on how Virginia is racist and doesn't help the colored folks like Joe Biden does.
