Let's Hear It for the Third Verse

If I ever wrote a hymn, it would only have three verses. Why write the third verse of a four verse hymn when your standard song leader usually skips the third verse. This thread is a chance for the often skipped third verse to shine. Remember, only one third verse per post!
I'd write a hymn with 12 verses.

I'd write a hymn with 12 verses.

O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing

written by Charles Wesley in 1739

It has 18 original stanzas, reads more like a poem to me.

Lets hear it for the 18th verse??

With me, your chief, you then shall know,
shall feel your sins forgiven;
anticipate your heaven below
and own that love is heaven.

Dark the night of sin has settled
Loud the angry billows roar
Eager eyes are watching, longing
For the lights along the shore.

Let the Lower Lights Be Burning

SHEPHERD of TENDER YOUTH

Verses 3 and 4 of 5.

3 You are the great High Priest,
you have prepared the feast
of holy love;
and in our mortal pain
none calls on you in vain;
our plea do not disdain;
help from above.

4 O ever be our guide,
our shepherd and our pride,
our staff and song.
Jesus, O Christ of God,
by your enduring Word
lead us where you have trod;
make our faith strong.

THE COMFORTER HAS COME

Lo, the great King of kings, with healing in His wings,
to ev'ry captive soul a full deliv'rance brings;
and through the vacant cells the song of triumph rings:
The Comforter has come!

I could sing of your love forever.
I could sing of your love forever.
I could sing of your love forever.
I could sing of your love forever.
I could sing of your love forever.

Would anyone notice if I left it in or took it out?
