Donald Trump

I find it interesting that we as a society take the high moral ground when we are confronted with Trump's crass manners. The same society that airs primetime TV programs that not long ago would have received R if not X ratings... A society that murders it's pre-born then mutilates it's adolescents if they think they're born the wrong gender but declares same sex attractions inborn and celebrates them... A society that winks at lawlessness but condemns traditional values... A society that sits in the church pews on Sundays but curses their neighbors the rest of the week...

Uh-huh... Trump is a real sleazeball isn't he? So good the rest of us are better than that...

A society that excuses or overlooks the atrocious behavior of anyone who is on "their side".

That's a very broad two way street. Who's side are you on?
The side of biblical righteousness which is sorely lacking in any American political party. So tell me, why am I obligated to be on one of those "sides"?

BTW I recently heard someone claim that Mr. Trump is a godly man. I'm going with no.

Where's the biblically righteous candidate we all want? Why isn't he on the ballot?

Also... Name me ONE presidential candidate who was "biblically righteous".

And yet, Trump accomplished so much good with his policies. No other conservative came close.

We had a "righteous" leader and see what his policies did?

Tell us where, in the Bible, we are supposed to vote for only righteous people.

"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people."

Maybe if we had spent more energy on teaching biblical righteousness than worrying about tax rates our grandchildren wouldn't be growing up in the mess we have made for them.

Funny how you all are worried about voting and policy yet not one of you can refute my OP. Some trust in chariots ...

2 Chronicles 7:14
New King James Version

14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

If the USA was ever a Christian country then this passage must refer to our sins. The church has hitched her wagon to the world via the lure of political power. We are reaping what we have sown.

Are you going to accept my challenge to name a "biblically righteous" presidential candidate?

.. .in case you failed to notice all politics and all politicians are vile and disgusting... if they are not before they get elected then being in office turns them that way quickly... ... but by all means - sit in a circle with other trump derangment syndome sufferers and stick pins in a trump doll while biden destroys the country -

that scripture is talking about famine and pestilence... things only God had power over..... .not a corrupt president that God allowed us as a nation to have the power to elect or remove ourselves.. a power and right which He expects us to use wisely.... .... but do go on and continue taking scripture out of context to speak your points... ..just don;t start complaining in 2025 when biden remains president and completes the democrats objective of turning the united states into a socialist/communist swamp....

God judges nations!

Pro 14:34
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. (not just Israel)

Why was Sodom and Gomorrah destroyed? Eze 16:49 Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. They were haughty and did an abomination before me. So I removed them, when I saw it. God will judge a nation that gives itself over to sodomy. (not just Israel)

Leviticus 18:3 talks about the sins of Egypt and Canaan which is almost as depraved as America has become. Nations that practiced the abominations described in Leviticus faced God’s judgment. (not just Israel)

Jonah 1:1-2 God told Jonah to cry out against Ninevah. Jonah 1:2 “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it, for their evil has come up before me.” God was going to judge the Ninevites because of their wicked behavior but withheld it when they repented. I pray God spares America.

The apostle Paul made it clear that the judgments in the Old Testament were examples for us today (1 Corinthians 10:6-11).

Gentile nations that God judged. This should bring all Christians to their knees.

Ammon (Amos 1:13-15)

Babylon (Isaiah 13:1 – 14:23)

Damascus (Amos 1:3-5)

Edom (Amos 1:11-12)

Egypt (Jeremiah 46:1-26)

Moab (Amos 2:1-3)

Philistia (Amos 1:6-8)

Tyre (Amos 1:9-10)

Billy Graham – “God does nations as well as individuals – and we ignore his judgment at our peril. The Bible warns that someday ‘He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead and crushing rulers of the whole earth’ (Psalm 1:10). In that day Christ will return in all his glory, and all the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the goats (Matthew 25:32). We can barely imagine that dramatic scene – but it is a warning that God’s hand of judgment won’t be held forever. At the same time, God’s judgment isn’t only for the future."

Abraham Lincoln We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven; we have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity; we have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us. It behooves us, then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.

All this being done in sincerity and truth, let us then rest humbly in the hope authorized by the divine teachings that the united cry of the nation will be heard on high and answered with blessings no less than the pardon of our national sins and the restoration of our now divided and suffering country to its former happy condition of unity and peace.
Done at the city of Washington, this 30th day of March, A. D. 1863, and of the Independence of the United States the eighty-seventh.

I don’t know that such a person could ever be nominated by either party. Look at how Mike Pence was treated for his desire to be faithful to his wife. Maybe I missed it but I don’t recall the Republican Party standing up for him. That includes the evangelical world. No, they chose to get behind a man who displays zero character qualities worthy of emulation.

Lower taxes are not worth the cost to the reputation of the Bride of Christ.
