The first thought would be a paycheck, but since she hadn't acted since 1998, eleven years earlier, I doubt she did it for money. She was raised a Roman Catholic, so don't read too much into this.
The optimist in me would like to think she found saving faith and this is an outgrowth of that. But the realist in me concedes your explanation is more likely.
